I love this show, and this is clearly Ted Danson's best acting role of his life. He is better on Becker than he was on Cheers, it is a shame that it did not get the ratings of Cheers, because I think it is hands down a better series than Cheers.
I got 5 seasons on DVD, hopefully they will release season 6 on DVD soon. |

Becker isn't even close to being the best sitcom of the past 40 years.

It was a very underrated sitcom. It's not as good as Cheers but is better than most of today's sitcoms.

When you look at the general picture many people think that after Cheers ended Ted Danson was still not going to rest on his laurels yet and so after Cheers aired it's finale Ted still had his sitcom moves and so when CBS cast him in the role of John Becker in Becker it indeed showed that Ted Danson still had the grace of a sitcom star. I think Becker was the sitcom that allowed Ted Danson to express himself in sitcoms and because of him I think that's what made Becker a smash sitcom for CBS and when you think of anything with Ted Danson it is sure to be a smash hit. If you want to see Ted Danson at his funniest beyond Becker I recommend the movie A Fine Mess which is really cool and when paired with Howie Mandel Ted's funny side shows in this movie

Yes, it is, followed closely by Caroline in the City, Yes Dear, and Suddenly Susan.
