Highest-ranked regular episode (The Facts of Life Down Under was a TV movie aired on another night), and second-highest regular episode of the season.

![]() I guess I'm playing Lost Girls devil's advocate with Christopher gone, but that guy in the Reelz docu should not have not have said TLC's ratings "spiked" because of the Lost Girls when they actually did not. Other ratings numbers are neighboring numbers just one, two, three tenths of a point away. Now, if previous episode ratings had been 17.8, 17.9, 18.0, 18.1 and then TLC garnered a 23 or a 25 rating, then yes, I'd say he'd be accurate to say "spiked". F.A.C.T., Mr. Colucci!

But I can also see things from other perspectives, because I equally feel as though some earlier documentaries shouldn't have presented some ratings as "disasters", when at least seven first season episodes were highly-rated. That's why these weekly ratings are so helpful for everyone: they sort of expose all sorts of myths, or at least present some alternate data. We get a more complete picture. |

It's a great reminder of how small the TV industry really was, back then. Having five actors all appear on two different shows, those two shows even being from different production companies.

![]() For smaller roles, Dick O'Neill, who played the store security role in "Shoplifting", and also played Ted in "Two Guys From Appleton", also appeared in Phyllis, as "Sonny" Dexter. Robert Mandan, who played Bruce Gaines, Mrs. G's husband, played a character named Larry for one episode of Phyllis. Ian Wolfe, who played Mr. Bigley/Mr. Lazzaroni, played a minister on the pilot of Phyllis. Murray Matheson, who played Mrs. Garrett's mean boyfriend Henry, played a character named Charles Plunkett in Phyllis. Dick Van Patten, who played Frank Stickle, played Walter in Phyllis. Martin Garner, who played Mr. Lowell in "The Last Drive-In" episode of The Facts of Life, played a character named Weinglass on Phyllis. Maurice Marsac, who played Louie in "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner", played a Maitre D' on Phyllis. ...that brings the number up to twelve, as far as I can tell! |

[puts Molly Parker hand on Molly Parker hip]
"Wait a minute, how do you know all this??" Really, how did you find out I was hiding that? You can't just Google "Facts of Life actors on Phyllis", lol. Quote:

Also, in my defense, many of those were small parts (easily forgettable after watching nearly 50 episodes in just a few weeks), and many episodes are just "ho-hum", and so ,y interest waned. Sometimes I was on my phone while they were playing. Then finally I realized, "Wait a minute, just think of her as Beverly Ann in the 1970s since she's more Beverly Ann here than she is Phyllis", and that got re-charged to keep watching!
And also, I responded while I was also working, lol. And this is all in the wrong thread! ![]() I posted my initial post now where it should be.
