I think she was upset because Jack helped Betty Jean with her cooking but didn't help Janet remember?

Yeah but why didn’t she just go out and say “hey, Jack, I don’t appreciate you catering to and kissing Betty Jean’s ass, it’s really disgusting and disturbing to me in my opinion, do you mind cutting it out and helping me and focus on the cooks and not the looks please”

That’s all she had to do but she’s going around and grunting and huffing and puffing and pouting and throwing tantrums like something’s wrong with her. One of Janet’s most annoying episodes.

Now I wonder why Janet was so cold to Jack and I've seen the episode a million times I just assume Janet was being protective in a sisterly way but that still doesn't excuse Jack for brushing her off in the cooking lesson.
