Y&R Question: Who’s Your Favorite Adam?

Adam Newman is a fictional character from the long running CBS soap opera The Young and The Restless. Adam was created by William J. Bell as the son of business tycoon and legend Victor Newman and Hope Wilson and was introduced on April 24, 1995. The role of Adam has been played by numerous child actors and adult actors over the years, but let’s focus on the adult actors. In 2008, the role of Adam was SORASed, beginning to be portrayed by Chris Engen, know as the first adult Adam. After a year in the role, Engen announced his exit from The Young and The Restless because of objections over his storyline, and Michael Muhney was recast in the role as the second adult Adam. In 2013, Muhney was was fired from the role and made his last appearance on January 30, 2014. Later that year, Justin Hartley was cast as the third Adam, who portrayed Adam for two additional years before vacating the role on September 1, 2016 to move on to the NBC original This Is Us. In May 2019, Mark Grossman took claim over the role, receiving his first credit as the fourth Adam on May 9.

So, with that being said, which adult actor did you like best in the role? Who is your favorite Adam?

I agree. He brought the acting chops to the emotionally complex, highly-flawed character of Adam which made you like the character, despite his psychotic tendencies!

MM’s Adam was quite the devil incarnate while JH’s Adam seemed very redeemed and sane and a decent human being. They tried to recreate MM’s Adam with MG but it didn’t work.
