Default People We Never See

Name some people who are talked about but we never see.

I’ll start with Freddie Pryor who was Carolyn Schuster’s boyfriend. He got grounded for 2 weeks so Carolyn used Eddie. (Eddie’s Double Cross)

Talking to Gilbert at school (who had just asked, do you have an Aunt Mildred (???)), Beaver mentions at least another aunt besides Martha, who is the only aunt we saw. Then on his birthday, he mentions another or more than one, and maybe a deceased uncle, possibly in another episode. When June went to care for her sister, we never saw her. As you may have figured out, I don't remember any of their names.

We also never saw Chubby Chadwick, but I wish we had heard Chubby Checker at one of the dances, or maybe on Beaver's record player.

Of course, we never got a face shot of Angela Valentine. If you count the back of her neck, I guess we can say we saw her, even though we couldn't identify her in a lineup.

Other than a brief glimpse of his head, viewers didn't get to see Larry Mondello's father.

Good ones. I believe Gilbert does mention Aunt Mildred. Beaver has an Aunt Mary, Cousin Ronny? and Uncle Tom. I think in Beaver’s Tree he mentions Uncle Harry. June’s sister is Peggy and we never see Martha’s brother who married that French girl.

How about Mr. Nibbling in Wally the Businessman? He calls and drops over twice. We never see Larry’s sister and brother, Richard’s sister, Whitey’s sister.

Whatever the name of June's sister was, the one she went to stay with when Aunt Martha outfitted Beaver with shorts, would be another aunt (was it Peggy?)

We never see the Mr. Peck, the haulin' guy, in Yardbirds. We may have seen a picture of Mule Saunders but we never actually saw him.

I think Ward mentioned his father had several brothers, but we never saw either his father or any of the brothers besides Billy. I just assume all of the boys' grandparents are deceased, since they're never mentioned.

Cousin Ronny would have made a better visitor than Jackie Waters, unless they used the same actor.

Did we ever see Ward's brother?

No, we never saw him. We never saw any of Ward's or June's siblings. I think the only relatives we saw were Ward's Uncle Billy and June's Aunt Martha.

We never see any of Chopper's big family, other than Mr., uh, "Uncle" Dave.

For all that Larry Mondello and his mother spoke of her, we never see his sister. Would've been interesting if we could.

Angela Valentine would be an obvious 'spoken of but never seen character' except that there was one time in which Miss Landers thanked Angela then the whole class for something and the entire classroom was seen applauding. Hence, Angela likely was among the uncredited, unnamed girls in the class applauding (along with Beav's nemesis Judy Hensler).

We learned a lot about Angela anecdotally. I don't remember if the class was applauding but I think she was the one who came up with the baby picture contest (according to Miss Landers).

There was another thread a few years ago that showed we once saw the back of a girl's head who was allegedly Angela.

Bravo Beaver Heads !

I'm amazed how much you'll know about this show !

I'd guess to say "We All" know more about Beaver Land than our own past school days (?)

It's interesting that, in 6 seasons, we never saw any family relatives other than Aunt Martha from the Bronson side and Uncle Billy from the Cleaver side.

Interesting how Ward and June see those figures with a bit of, shall we say, affectionate contempt "your side of the family...chuckle chuckle" way.

June sees Uncle Billy as easy going, a bit too easy going, bordering on irresponsible, to Wards dismay.

Ward sees ( well, everybody but June sees ) her Aunt Martha as priggish and a little batty, to June's irritation.

It seems to be, in my experience ( and by comparing notes to my peer's experiences ) not all that uncommon a family dynamic.

There's a pretty good look at Larry Mondelo's father backstage on "The School Play".

Right, no lines, but we saw him. We never saw Larry's sister, just heard about her. Thinking about it, we never saw the siblings of any of Beaver's friends, other than Lumpy, if you call Violet Rutherford a friend of Beaver.
