I think there would be a lot more interest if they were covering the classic cases. I guess it will be worth checking out for all-new cases.

Why? They’re rehashed to death here and there’s already several podcasts on classic cases including The Trail Went Cold. So, why?

I'm about halfway through the first, new episode (which takes place in my neck of the woods actually). The musicial cues & the deadpan narration give me some old school UM vibes and as the witnesses are talking, I can almost picture them in the same old school interviews/reenactments. I think this will be worth listening to no matter what kinds of cases are covered.

Thank you for putting the word on the street OP! I almost started a thread yesterday but got sidetracked, as is common for me, lol. I love podcasts and follow a number of them, including our very own Robin Warder's The Trail Went Cold. I've also told CrystalDawn that if she ever wanted to turn her awesome blog into a podcast, I'd be a loyal listener. (Shout out to CD)! Hope you all will enjoy it as much as I will and look forward to seeing some feedback.

So does this mean no further actual episodes, just podcast episodes?

I loved it! I loved that they started with a paranormal case, particularly one I’m not familiar with. Now I want to dig up more info on it.
I loved how it uses the classic music and logo, unlike the Netflix series. The narrator is great, and the storytellers do a good job painting a picture of their experiences. Also, the sound design is great and I recommend listening with headphones. |

Okay, now that I've caught the first episode, I can give a review. I also loved the podcast! I really enjoyed the narrator; he had a suitably creepy voice and storytelling style that fit the subject matter perfectly IMO. I mean let's face it...there will never be another Robert Stack or golden era when the show was in it's prime. That said however, I've been pleasantly surprised by the Netflix reboot and now the podcast. I especially appreciated how the podcast used the classic UM theme music. It brought me right back to the wonderful days of my childhood when my Granny and I would bake a Red Baron for dinner, turn out the lights, and curl up together to watch Robert Stack at his creepy best, lol.
I also agree with the poster up thread about their decision to start off with a paranormal episode. Don't get me wrong, the true crime stories are still my favorite, but part of what made UM great IMO was the diversity of their subject matter. I already have a number of terrific true crime podcasts that I follow, and the decision to start things off with a paranormal segment made the UM podcast feel like something unique and all it's own, at least IMO anyway. Bottom line: give it a chance...hopefully you'll be as pleased as I was. |

I'll check it out, but am still put off of anything UM after those dreadful (and highly misleading) episodes from Netflix.

ARGHHHH. Oh well, I will continue to listen regardless. Looking forward to the true crime material and possible updates. |

They could've atleast pretended that the ghost in question possessed one of the hosts to make it more interesting

Unsolved Mysteries was and is more than just a basic true crime series. Its appeal comes from the variety of mysteries, including ghosts, aliens, lost loves, and hidden treasure.

I'm glad you made mention of this FB, because I couldn't really tell what that one guest was getting at. While he was recounting his experience in the cemetery, he indicated that he felt something influenced his behavior but seemed to stop just short of using the word "possessed". It was still an interesting account IMO, but I had kind of hoped he would share a little more of his personal insights regarding his seemingly altered behavior.

They’re heavily editing through the reviews on the podcast. I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews on their Instagram post, only for them to be removed and all the positive ones remain. Same with their podcast reviews on Apple podcasts.
