One thing I noticed when first watching this series a few years back Kelly during the first few years of the show was a bad actress. Every line she spoke was said in the exact same way with the exact same inflections. And I mean EVERY line she spoke. It was almost like listening to a short melody played over and over when she talked.

BUT as the series went on, the last couple years of the show, she improved a great deal. She stopped (for the most part) speaking her lines the same way and sounded more natural. You'd have thought though the casting people would have picked up on this when first casting her. Then I read that when the show was first being cast they weren't going to use her, she wasn't cute enough but Ronald Reagan (or maybe it was Jack Benny I don't remember for sure) told John Forsythe that they should go ahead and cast her. As Pres. Reagan thought she was more natural and real looking than the typical really cute actress teen girls. I guess you could say Kelly learned on the job.
