Default xmas

so, what'd everyone do for it? Stay home (I hope so) or just ignore the virus and the CDC warnings and go somewhere (I hope not)

Same here, except that I now have only my mother left.
I was in touch my sister electronically though on Christmas Eve.

our family always gathers at my brother and sister-in-laws for a big dinner and to open gifts, etc. But this year we did it all via Zoom.

I'm single and live by myself so Christmas and every other holiday is just another day on the calendar to me. My cousin from out of town sent me a few Christmas gifts. Talked on the phone with a buddy I attended school with back in the day. On New Years Eve I stayed awake till after midnight so I could see the new year come in.

In the area where I currently live, I'm friendly with some of my immediate neighbors and that's it. My family/relatives and best friend live out of town/out of state and I keep in touch with them by telephone. Last year in 2020, I chatted for awhile on Facebook with a woman who lives in the area here not too far away, I was hoping to develop a friendship and possible relationship with her but she flaked out on me so that was the end of that. I guess she decided she wasn't interested in me. Aside from that negative experience, 2020 was a decent year for me.

Oh No

Bah Humbug!

Next Christmas, I'm spending it with myself! I can't get along with my sister, when I was forced to watch YouTube videos and their commercials, she said "live with it" and had to tell me "why"...cheapskate!

I hate commercials, but she has to win! I can't set-foot in her house since I have to be the loser! I have to play by her rules...and I can't have feelings...**** her!

Your sister sounds like a wonderful person, sweet and friendly.

The woman I had been chatting with on Facebook, I put a full effort in trying to become friends with her but she never responded to me in the way I hoped she would, most of the messages she sent me had a snarky/sassy tone to them so I'm better off without her. I also suspect that she's seeing another guy and if that's the case then he can deal with her nasty personality.

My sister reminds me of my grandma...a control freak and being "my way or the highway" type of people.

Maybe Easter will bring us warm weather or she sees her in-laws. Maybe by then, we can have a saner holiday and I can go to church, if not...I'll see if I can go to Philadelphia that weekend.
