Default David Cassidy's 1985 UK Comeback

David was all over the place in England in 1985. Promoting his album Romance which featured his song Last Kiss. Which had a very popular at the time George Michael singing back up vocals.

David was looking very 80'S. His Hair and clothes Looked like the dude from Kajagoogoo.

Seems to me it was during that middle 1980's timeframe when David Cassidy attempted to emulate Barry Manilow.

David Cassidy's album/CD from 1990 is pretty good, there's some decent hard rocking tunes on that album. Then in 1992 he released another CD but he went in another direction with it, it's more on the mellow side but the majority of songs on it are good so it's still worth a listen. In my opinion, his 1992 CD is the last one worth having because anything he released after that is substandard. I didn't care at all for the Old Trick New Dog CD so I didn't buy it and didn't buy anything else he released afterwards.

The three albums he recorded for RCA in the mid 1970's are all pretty good and all of those are worthy of a listen.

I sensed a more Wham sound and a-Kajagoogoo -Duran Duran look.

Odd that no record label in the U.S. wanted to take a chance on a pretty big hit in England.

It looked like he was trying to wear the Partridge Family Bus as a jumpsuit!

You got that right. I believe George M stated he was a fan of PF as a kid. It is ironic they died a year apart. Being an 80' s teen, I enjoyed a few GM and Wham tunes.

I never knew David was really big in England. A theatre placed a plaque in his memory recently. He performed Blood Brothers there. One English fan even released a book in his honor called Cherish last year. It is a nice book. I read a little bit of it recently. Cool rare pictures.
