Default Antenna TV Hour Special Time Tomorrow

Today is the last day of FOL airing in the 3PM hour weekdays on Antenna TV. Unfortunately it is getting demoted to the 6AM hour next week. But tomorrow is their stunt featuring the 10 shows that got the most votes on their Facebook page. For tomorrow only on New Year's Day, The Facts of Life will air in the 7PM eastern hour.

Cool that the show was popular enough to get a top 10 spot!

How is it a demotion getting moved to 6 AM? Most people are at work and school between hours of 8 to 5 weekdays. No one can really see anything on TV during those times. Well, at least before covid anyways. I do my TV watching in the morning before heading off to work so I see this move strategically than a demotion. I think USA Network used to air it in the early hours. I know there was a time when it aired at 8 & 8:30 AM. But I also remember it being on around 6 or 7 in the morning too. It's been so long ago that I forgot. I actually used to watch FOL on USA in the mornings before going to school. I think this move is fine. FOL must be doing well on Antenna since it was included in the popular vote.

No school is in session til 5PM. Some students might have extracurricular activities, but a lot of them are out by 3PM. And while 8 to 5 jobs still exist, they are hardly the only working hours out there any more. Even before this year, retail workers had widely varying hours. My dad gets two days off a week, but what days those are is not the same. The Antenna TV insider who posts on some of the General Sitcoms threads has said FOL was consistently the lowest rated of the afternoon shows despite having the highest rated afternoon show (Bewitched) as a lead-in.

MeTv and Attenna TV audience is mainly made up of seniors. You can tell who the advertising is geared too. The people who watched the Facts of Life in it's original run are not seniors yet.

If Bewitched aired before FOL, what demographic were they going for? That's an odd lead in and a huge generation gap. You go from a 60's show to an 80's show. They should have put a 70's show in between to fill the generation gap. When FOL aired on USA, they had Gimme A Break, Major Dad, My Two Dads, and Wings airing along side of it. USA did a good job of keeping shows from a generation on their schedule. FOL obviously did well then because it stayed on their morning rotation for many years. It did well on N@N back in the early 2000's. N@N brought the show a lot of new fans who would post on here and IMDb back then. FOL could do well on Antenna TV if they put it in the right time slot with the right shows. I don't think 3 PM was ever a good choice because hardly anyone in that demographic is home to watch IMO.

I don't watch Antenna TV so I don't bother reading their schedule threads on the General Sitcoms board. I tried watching the show a few times on the channel when a member here was doing his reviews and the editing Antenna does is bad. Antenna TV wasn't just cutting out scenes, they also cut out lines that helped the episode make sense. For me it's hard watching shows I own on DVD in syndication. I see what they cut out and wonder why the hell they're even trying. There's definitely scenes they could cut out and it wouldn't affect the episode, but they choose to be different and have people posting on here what does this mean or what happened here that Antenna cut out.

Antenna TV did a Facebook poll of it's show and Facts of Life came in 3rd place.

That's odd for a show that's not doing well on their network. If they move it again to another time slot, I hope it's in the evening like 5 or 6. The show still holds up today to attract new viewers. Even though they went full on 80's in the Over Our Heads years (7 & 8), the show still remained focus on the core 4's friendship. Not sure what you could say season 9 focused on.

I think 80s for Antenna TV means the average age of their viewers.
