Default The Chilling Facts of Life

What if they did a dark, dramatic reboot of the show? Eastland is a gothic school - all dark hallways and dimly-lit rooms. It’s remotely located, and animals and other strange noises can be heard at night. Newly-arrived housemother Edna Garrett is put in charge of a small dorm/house where seven girls live. Her boss, Headmaster Bradley, is sinister and creepy. Her colleague Miss Mahoney disappears a few episodes in. The body is later found at Cooper’s Rock. Authorities are baffled.

Some time later, other girls from the dorm slowly disappear, too. Class president Cynthia seemingly commits suicide, but was it staged? Does new student Jo have anything to do with these happenings? Could The Group, a secret Skull-And-Bones-type society of Eastland students, be responsible? Or could it be the urchins like Andy and Kelly who weirdly hang around the students? Edna is determined to find an answer to the strange goings on at Eastland.

This reminds me of Jenny O'Hara's role in that Gothic comedy she was in a few months before Facts of Life.

You better believe I'd watch that!

They could tie in all the missing people with the mysteries.

I love this idea! I mean, if they ever reboot it, it's never going to be the same anyway. Might as well make it distinctive and new.

Eh, watch The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina AFTER reading the comics. It sounds great on paper, but when they start to produce it, there's people who add too many aspects that weren't part of the origin and change parts of the story that they shouldn't. I like dark shows but only if they're done right. I think if they ever tried a dark take on FOL, they'd change so much that it'd be unwatchable. They could make the girls obnoxious to watch like a version of Molly that's ten times worst

If they made Molly ten times worse, then it should be pretty easy to kill her off, right?

...I mean, we all know Edna locked Molly up in the basement, after she gave her such a hard time in "Molly's Holiday". She let her up, very briefly, twice thereafter, but never again. They say the ghost of Molly Parker still roams the basement halls of Eastland, clinking her chains and howling, "We're women! We're wooooomen!"

Wow! That's a great story TV Guy! You've got a vivid imagination i can tell!!!
Are you by any chance a Horror fan movie? (i bet you are from the looks of it!)
I'd say MISS MAHONEY is the main culprit, and with a little help of her servants/devoted slaves ANDY and KELLY, she manages to hide the 7 Eastland girls in her chamber of torture, where they discover CYNTHIA alive but chained to a wall, and JO the Barbarian Bronx is standing close to her with an axe in her hand, and a crazy smile on her face......
"Do you want me to kill her first Miss Mahoney? Or should i start with Farrah?"

Ha yes, Valentina - I love a good horror movie. And I mean good - there are so many bad ones out there.

Maybe we could add a plot thread about what goes into the food at Edna’s Edibles. I mean, that was actually a plot thread in a season 5 episode.

I'd watch it but wouldn't be crazy about it. If it's anything like Riverdale or The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, I'd tune out because they overdramatize everything. I like TFOL as a dramedy. The original Sabrina TV show is far superior to the drama.

The Facts of Life would work better as a dramedy instead of a knock off of "Riverdale"
