HA HA! Exactly!

And to think it was dumped only due to stupid Gunsmoke which had already been on a zillion years!

It would've been interesting to see who they get to replace Tina Louise all you needed was a tall slender redhead.

AfterMash is an example of a show that lasted longer than it should have. The show was losing audience in the first season, so much so that it was on the bubble as far as renewal goes. Unfortunately for the series and everyone involved with the show, the series won the coinflip and was renewed. The ratings were so bad at the start of the second season that the series was pulled prior to the November sweeps. The final episodes were burned off after the sweeps (things were so bad that one episode was not shown in U.S.A.).

They already picked 2 ladies. Debbie & someone else. Tina leaving would have made NO difference because the show was about Gilligan & the zany antics that happened on the island!

That unaired episode of AfterMASH had been scheduled for 12/18/84. Don't recall why is wasn't shown.
