Default Early seasons and Gloria's outfits....

Lately, I've been paying attention to the clothes Gloria wore back then, and it reminded me of the same stuff I wore when I was a teenager.....Hip huggers were all the rage back then, and you had the have the "right hips" to look decent in them....Who remembers suckin' down those things called "Ayds" to attain such a figure?

Those tight shirts she wears under them? HA!!! We knew them as "body-suits" that had 3 snaps at the bottom of your "lady parts" to pull of a "smooth look" (I owned a good 5 or 6 myself and turtlenecks could NOT be beat!) But God help you if one or more snaps came "unpopped"...

A nice pair of "bell-bottom FLARES" and a good pair of "wedgies" and out the door I went....

It was "Soul Train"-Worthy, and even Gloria was seen prancin' in front of the TV doing as such, lol!!

That was the style for women with her type of build in the early 70's. It did come off as a slut outfit lol

This post aroused me. I was born 20 years too late. My generation of The Girl Next Door is 80 tatoos, 40 piercings, skank rap music, and shaved yang-yangs!

Absolutely.

And if you think that's depressing wait until they get older and everything sags.

Hey, what can I say? You only came off looking like a "slut" if you had hips that were too large, a pot-belly, or thighs that sounded like hefty bags when you walk.....Oh, and if you had the unmittigated gall to wear a tube top or a short cropped blouse in addition to that, it was THEN you came off looking "less than desirable"...

I forgot to add fake boobs in my original post. Girls who wore bell-bottom FLARES in the 1970's looked so hot. Then the hippy guys started wearing them and they immediately went out of style.

Must have been the style for young women in the early 70's because I see that Carol on maude and Gloria on this show both wore short skirts and knee high boots
