Im looking for this one particular episode of The Danny Thomas Show although it might've taken place during the first three seasons when the show was known as Make Room For Daddy.
Anyway this particular episode starts out with Terry being really nice to her dad, telling him he's handsome and kissing up to him and sweet talking all because she wants her own television in her room which her dad firmly tells her no. Rusty also wants a motorcycle of his own which, just like the television that Terry wants, his dad is adamant that he will not get one. A woman who I believe is a journalist is staying with the family for a few days to observe how they live and make a report so the dad tells the kids to just be themselves. Its the dad, however, who tries making an impression on the journalist by bringing home presents for the children every day in hopes that she will think he's a doting dad but she sees right through it and knows what a fake he is being. It is Rusty, however, who has the idea to take advantage of his dad's doting act in front of the journalist to get the motorcycle he wants and for Terry to get the television she wants. So they tell the journalist about the television and the motorcycle they will be getting and she is about to write it down in her report when the dad finally snaps and comes to his senses and stops putting on the phony act. Another thing about this episode that happens on the side is that one of the presents the dad gets for Rusty is a water gun which Rusty fills up with ink. The dad, thinking the gun is loaded with water, ends up shooting ink all over himself. So is anybody familiar with this episode? I personally thought it was hilarious. |

If you have shows to trade you might check here--this trader has some episodes from the first three seasons:
https://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards...84#post5211184 Also I just did some checking and I'm wondering if this is S5 Ep32 "Too Good For Words"--A columnist comes to the Williams household to write about their everyday lives. I'll try to find the S5 DVDs and check the episode. |

I've seen some of these episodes with the WORST transfer to DVD I've ever seen. A disgrace. I bought a couple from my 99 cent store and can barely tolerate the quality of the discs and then thrown them out! I believe the first 3 seasons are in Public Domain and that's why the crappy quality.

Yes that's exactly the episode! It's so sad that they had to cut/edit 4 minutes of every show made before the 90"s for commercials. Really pisses me off. The one show that seems to be intact is LEAVE IT TO BEAVER on ME-TV.
