WOW. I never knew this and stumble across this episode tonight by an accident. Kim fields appear on 227 during the last season of FOL in Feb of 1988

Nice find!

I suspect that set seen was the same set used in the episode where Jo visits her mother's apartment in the Bronx. It certainly looks familiar.

I am not at all surprised. While FOL was still airing, Mindy did an episode of Double Trouble and an episode of Friday Night, Lisa was doing appearances on the PTL Club and four episodes of The Love Boat, Kim also did Friday Night and Prior's Place, and Nancy did a half a dozen ABC Weekend and Afterschool Specials, as well as an episode of Alice. Felice also did an episode of Alice and Julie Pie did an episode of Hollywood Squares during their time as regular cast members on FOL.

And of course, Mindy, Lisa, Molly, Julie Anne, and Kim also all did crossover episodes of Diff'rent Strokes while FOL was on the air.

I don't think it's unusual for stars to appear on game shows (especially in this era). Free publicity for the show and ratings boost for the game show. Also not usual for Kim and Mindy to promote another show on the network. Friday Night video were geared toward young people at a time slot where a lot of young people were not watching TV.

What was usual was having Felice appear on a show from another network. I would take it that episode of "Alice" was filmed before the Great Purge took place.

You guys (except for TVFactFan) didn't know this?? This episode has been on my DVR among over 50 other "227" episodes for years!

Yes, Kim appeared on "227", and so did Charlotte Rae later! She played Millie McMillan, the mother of lame-o resident Dylan McMillan (like, he's so totally lame-o). She, of course, is wonderful!

I seen the Charlotte Rae appearance but not Kim Fields. Kim fields also played the granddaughter of Helen Martin on a 1978 show before Facts of Life called Baby Im Back

I watched some of the 227 episode and was amazed of how short Kim appeared compared with the other actors and actresses. My goodness, I don't know if it was the camera angles or what, but everyone else appeared to be a foot taller than Kim.

But Nancy's Alice episode was also on CBS, and Lisa's Love Boat appearances were on ABC. Nancy's Afterschool Specials were also on ABC.

Yes, it was. It aired in Spring 1980, when the "back nine" episodes of FOL's first season were airing. I suspect she had way more lines on her Alice episode than she had on the final nine episodes of the first season of FOL.

Haha! I noticed that, too!

It's especially noticeable in her first scene, when nearly everyone's hair is poofed up very high, '80s style, but Kim's is styled flat. Later, I suspect she was also wearing high heels with those flirty dresses. But in the beginning of the episode, she still looks like a kid. I suppose the hair ribbons don't help.

It's hard for me to keep track of what all shows each girl (of eight), plus the Eastland staff, were doing during their FOL run. I also don't have 227 on DVD.

Kim Fields' episode of 227 aired right after the Facts of Life episode "The First Time" on 2/6/88. Sherman Hemsley appeared in the episode of 227 that aired he following week playing a different character than he did on Amen which also aired on NBC Saturday nights.
