Never heard about it before, yet was glad to order some classics which aren't available in any other form, and so I did with "Archie Bunker's Place - complete studio recordings" - recieved a link and finished downloading all seasons.

Imagine my surprise as I've noticed it has the "film" look and not the "videotape" one (can't think of the proper technical term at the moment) and e-mailed the site for answers.

The response I've got contained the following: "Maybe you can contact Sony and tell them you dont like the way their original prints look?" and "For 50 dollars i think you would realize what a rare treasure you have."

While I agree it's rare indeed, it is also quite the rude way to answer a client.
You complained about the videos being presented in 4x3 PB which is the original prints from Sony. You said you were disappointed and wanted them in Full stretched VHS format. And were waiting for me to do something about it. I informed you of the fact that I only distribute them the way Sony has them. I also mentioned that you were welcome to ask Sony why they are not presented the way you want them. What is so rude about that? Did you want me to ask them for you? These are super rare shows that arent available to the public presented in great audio and video quality. Which is pretty awesome in my opinion. Sorry if you took my reply as rude. it was not intended to be.

It was mentioned in this form a few times that the episodes are presented in Standard Definition with the black bars on the side. If you found out about my site from this form, like you mention, than you would of obviously seen this information mentioned a few times.

I doubt anyone on this form will agree with you in your comment about me being rude. I help all my customers and go above and beyond to make sure they are happy to the best of my ability.

I offer discounted prices, free gifts, and coupon codes to everyone.

Changing the format of the videos that are from the studio are not one of my abilities. These shows are presented in perfect audio and video viewing.

Hey Buddy,

Hows that DVD Player working out for ya? Sorry you aren't happy with the $69.99 price for ABP. Its a monster 4 season/17 disc set.

Its funny how you were super happy with paying $35 for Gloria. Gloria is a 1 season/4 disc set.

Just look at the comparison and think about the pricing. Just saying.

PS.....The collection on my site has 5 edited episodes out of 97. Only one is from season one. So, the remaining three seasons only have four. The archie alone two part and the Gloria comes home two part. All the other 92 episodes are the unedited versions.

This is what Sony has available.

Take care.

The Archie Alone episodes aired uncut on FamilyNet. It didn't air as an hourlong episode but each part ran 24 minutes or so long. I've been holding off on this set because my FamilyNet set is really good and primarily uncut. He has Free Spirit as well but I have the series from original airings. The quality isn't as good but I can't spend almost 30 dollars for a short lived show that wasn't really that amazing to begin with. I spent half that for the set I have now.

I was referring to the show Free Spirit, which is another sitcom on the site. $30 is a steal for Archie Bunker's Place but the price currently listed isn't making me want to purchase it any time soon. If this set were to be released by Shout Factory or some other company and every episode is completely uncut then I would consider spending 70 dollars.

Everyone here is just stating their opinions. Nothing personal. We appreciate your site. We are just engaging in conversation. Sorry about the rude remark though, you are far from rude and definitely go above and beyond to help your customers.

As far as they black bars, we can live with it. That's a preference. Since I have a few of the sets listed from either personal recordings or trades/purchases, I'm just making comparisons on pricing. Your pricing isn't bad though.

Since I have many of these sets I'm simply holding off but I do plan to purchase from your store in the future.

The DVD player was the best buy of 2020 and about to start Gloria. That's because Gloria is not available anywhere far as DVD or syndication. So I defintely got that from you. I dont have a issue paying but after finding out the the edited eps I just didnt think it was a good buy. If Chico and the Man appears on your site I will defintely pay 70 for that because its not showing in syndication and never released on DVD

You're not likely to find any of those completely unedited any time soon. I have the complete series of Chico and the Man but it is not completely uncut. It runs 23 minutes long, which is longer than syndication length but still missing and additional minute and a half of content.

I also have the complete series of Roc from TV One recordings. They run between 22 and 23 minutes long. I have no original airings to compare them to so I'm not sure if they are completely uncut though.

Never been a huge Three's Company fan so I've never owned the DVDs. I have the spin off Three's A Crowd on DVD but I've always liked that show better.

I'll catch Three's Company when it airs from time to time but never felt the need to buy the DVDs.

Speaking of edits, I found a slight edit in the Gimme a Break complete series set. Two lines were edited out of the Who Dunnit episode from season 4.

In regards to edited episodes on a DVD set I can deal with a handful of edited episodes, not the entire set. 5 edited episodes isn't bad at all.

The Alf set is probably the worst offender when it comes to edited episodes because almost every episode is syndicated versions. Maybe a handful of episodes are uncut if that.

Same goes with the Angie set from VEI. Roughly 7 episodes are uncut while the rest are syndicated versions. No sale VEI.

Chico and the man or Roc dont have to be unedited since they are not shown anywhere. Only Three's Company
