I got my shipment in, watching ABP 1st. the two hour long episodes (Archie’s New Partner, Archie Alone) are the syndicated cuts. The Archie Alone episode has even less than TV Lands cuts from the early 2000s.

Archie’s New Partner is the same cut I believe, but the Archie Alone cuts are butchered. I’m sure that’s probably the best that was in the vault but still a little bummed about it. Despite that they’re great sets so far.

Are the episodes in full screen or do they have the black bars on the sides?

Sorry I forgot to reply again, yes it’s standard definition with black bars on the sides.

That's weird about "Archie Alone" considering the full hour version is on Crackle: https://www.crackle.com/watch/2997/2499728

Since "Archie Bunker's Place" and Mantronix Retro TV were both mentioned, I'd like to add my personal experience with this site from just three days ago:
Never heard about it before, yet was glad to order some classics which aren't available in any other form, and so I did with "Archie Bunker's Place - complete studio recordings" - recieved a link and finished downloading all seasons. Imagine my surprise as I've noticed it has the "film" look and not the "videotape" one (can't think of the proper technical term at the moment) and e-mailed the site for answers. The response I've got contained the following: "Maybe you can contact Sony and tell them you dont like the way their original prints look?" and "For 50 dollars i think you would realize what a rare treasure you have." While I agree it's rare indeed, it is also quite the rude way to answer a client. |
