^^^ How Kyra responded to not going on her trip was her letting it be known that she had finally had more than enough of Cheyanne's crap getting dumped on her plate. What Brock said to Reba about it couldn't have been put out there more perfectly. What Reba said in return, "I've forgiven you for a lot of things, Brock, but if you take my daughter away from me....." in my opinion was wrong. She should've have been telling him thank you for giving Kyra somewhere else to go.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. As for Van, he tried to tell Cheyanne that he needed rest, but like always, the only person that she ever bothered to really listen to is herself.

Yes Kyra missing one trip was more than enough

Van was being selfish AF in season 4 and made Cheyenne cope in destructive ways due to giving her zero thought.

^^^ If Van was truly a selfish person, the marriage never would've taken place to begin with because he never would've stuck around for Elizabeth. Then Cheyenne most definitely would've been a single parent.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. Why Kyra had to miss the trip is what pushed her over the edge. Right then is when Reba should've drawn the line where Cheyenne was concerned, but because she didn't, the only thing that I fault Kyra for is asking her mother this question: "How can you be a grandmother to Elizabeth when you can't even be a mother to me?" What makes me feel even worse for Kyra is her not being old enough at the time to get out there and work a job to get the missing money for her trip gathered up which is something that we actually never once see Cheyenne do, work a job that is, unlike her husband and you can't count her time at the soup kitchen because that was volunteer work.

"How can you be a grandmother to Elizabeth when you can't even be a mother to me?" Reba does mother her, thats not fair to say otherwise

^^^ Letting Cheyenne get away with everything no matter who is punished in the process is not a fair way to be a mother when Cheyenne is not the only child in the picture.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. At the end of the day, how often did Cheyenne really stand on her own two feet when Reba was always there to provide her with a safety net? I applaud Kyra for refusing to be Cheyenne's safety net when Cheyenne never thought about how her choice of action impacted the lives of other people. To me, Van going off to Denver couldn't have been a better way for Cheyenne to finally get a good dose of her own medicine considering the fact that she did not want him to go.

Well I think we are just going in circles here. Why don’t we agree to disagree?

I’m watching in reruns and she drives me crazy! Yes, there’s some growth, but there’s a lot about her that just stays the same. She’s largely vain and selfish throughout the series. There are a good number of episodes where she ends up showing understanding for someone, but honestly after five years you’d think she’d be able to handle things more maturely from the onset, but every time something’s not the way she wants it, it’s a half hour of pouting and screeching and often she doesn’t apologize for her part of the problem. She’s pretty and I dint begrudge her that, but the fact that everyone just excuses her actions here is so annoying. It’s one thing when that’s how a show is written, it’s another when real people forgive the character because “she’s cute, so who cares if she’s terrible”. The situation with Kyra moving out was probably the worst one, but the thing that also drove me nuts was her constantly wheedling Reba to be nice to Barbara Jean or help Barbara Jean our. Like, seriously?! You know your mother has good reasons to want to spend as little time with this woman as possible, but you still keep needling her to “help”. Come on, mom, Barbara Jean let’s be Barbara Jean’s workout buddies, come on mom, buy Barbara Jean’s house, come on, Mom, buy insurance from Barbara Jean, come on mom, let Barbara Jean help plan my wedding. It drove me crazy when everyone did it (especially Brock), but Cheyenne seemed like the least able to see why Reba might not want to fraternize with BJ.
