Default Match Game from the 70s....Imagine This!!

If you recall the MG of the 1970s, you likely remember Brett Somers. Remember how she used to cough and hack, never covering her mouth? I actually saw her cough right at Charles a few times, and no one did a thing!! True, there wasn't a pandemic like we have now, but good manners dictate that you cover your damn mouth when coughing around others!!! Just a reminder that you could still catch colds and bronchitis!!! And flu!! Were we that lax back then??? Just saying....

Hi, Thelma. Wasn't Brett a smoker too? (Her voice certainly sounds like she's lit up a few... ) Maybe she figured the smoke and particulates killed the germs. Or that pipe-smoking Charles wouldn't mind...

I was just making a point about the germs that could be spread by coughing at people! I used to smoke too, but never would I have coughed in someone's face!! You understand my point, I hope, and you're Paul, right? Hope you're well!!! I also recall an episode from way back when gene rayburn came out and wouldn't kiss the "new kid on the block" because he was sick. He made a big deal out of saying he was worried because the illness was lasting so long, beyond the usual amount of time. Then he laughed like an idiot!! Who laughs at illness??

Yes, that's me. I'm doing fine -- hope things are good with you, too. I agree, Brett shouldn't have done that, even if she and Charles were buddies outside of the show.

I don't remember things being lax, but do recall the advice being that you should cover your mouth with your hand when coughing. That never made sense to me, since people touch other people with their hands. I would cough into my sleeves, which was somewhat looked down upon. Of course now that seems to be the advice people are given...

Yes, Paul, that's the right way!! I truly can't figure these shows! Don't watch any more, they all are boring lately. Much rather read a good book!! Everything is well in my world, thanx!! I only get a bit uptight about health issues because i once was an RN!
