"The Bold and the Beautiful’s" Courtney Hope Exits: “Abrupt Ending to a Monumental Journey”

The storyline of Sally Spectra on CBS’ "The Bold and the Beautiful" has come to an end. Courtney Hope, who has portrayed the character since 2017, took to social media Monday to reveal she is departing the daytime drama.

She wrote on Instagram today:

“An abrupt ending to a monumental journey. The last three years have been amazing, and though I do not know what the future holds this chapter of Sally has sadly come to an end.

I love my @boldandbeautifulcbs cast and crew and will miss everyone dearly, but await the day we may all play again. Some things are out of our control, and I thank the fans for your support through it all! Until then, I revel in new beginnings and everything the future has in store.

“Love you all, Sally Spectra out.”

"B&B" Favorite Courtney Hope Jumps to "Y&R"

"The Bold and the Beautiful" vet Courtney Hope has found a new home at another CBS soap: The actress has joined "The Young and the Restless", just weeks after her departure from "B&B", TVLine has confirmed.

Hope teased the news on Thursday with an Instagram photo of herself wearing a "Y&R" hat and T-shirt, while holding a Crimson Lights mug. “This seems like a good fit,” the caption reads.

Details about her character have not been revealed yet, but seeing as how the two daytime dramas are sister soaps who sometimes share characters, there has been speculation that Hope could still be playing Sally Spectra.

Courtney Hope's "Y&R" Role Confirmed

Courtney Hope‘s full-on, full-time crossover from "The Bold and the Beautiful" to "The Young and the Restless" is now confirmed.

CBS’ No. 1 soap has officially announced that, as widely suspected/hoped at the time that her casting first leaked, Hope is relocating Sally Spectra to Genoa City.

Arriving in the new burg on Tuesday, Nov. 3, Sally will be “looking to make a fresh start, while doing her best to keep her colorful past a secret,” CBS teases. “She comes to town with an agenda and some surprising connections to key players, including Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman).”

“We really enjoyed Courtney’s work on The Bold and the Beautiful. Sally Spectra is a colorful character that fans love watching,” Y&R head writer and co-EP Josh Griffith said in a statement. “We are excited for her to stir things up in Genoa City and join our talented cast.”
