I love the smile on Reba's face as she listens to what Barbra Jean has to say about Kelly.

God bless you always!!!

I finally finished!

"She's With The Band"---Finally a Kyra focused episode! She wants to focus on her band rather than go to college and Reba of course is against it. They fight, then discuss and make up and Kyra comes back home. I would've loved to have seen this story play out over a few episode arc rather than one episode. But i'm glad to see Kyra the center of attention at least for an episode.

Van & Cheyenne go furniture shopping and Van is hilarious trying to get comfortable on the hideous couch Cheyenne likes. I mean it was so ugly and uncomfortable looking that I don't think she would ever pick that for her home. Van was also funny with these idiotic ideas he came up with like a vibrating couch and pulling out his phone to remind himself of his new idea. I could see a Van & Cheyenne spin off...too bad it didn't happen.

Brock & BJ are still fighting and boring me!!

"The Housewarming"---More of Brock & BJ's separation taking center stage again....did anyone care at this point about these two? It's exhausting to the point where I just want to go back to the other characters.

Van & Cheyenne begin nesting in their new home and Reba still unable to completely let go starts popping in on them too much and they get so fed up that Van tells Reba the worst thing she can hear----That she's their Barbara Jean! That was so funny and it really did a number on poor Reba who went back home still reeling from that.

It ended with everything unresolved and I noticed that this and the finale played on the same night....so perhaps it was meant to be a 2 parter even though they have different titles?

The Kids Are Alright ----Van tries to fix the heater in the new home with a butter knife and causes a massive fire. His reaction to the flames was hysterical.

Of course Reba is delighted to have them back over at her house to stay while the home is repaired, but they wind up not even staying the night because they realize it's better to deal with their mistakes on their own and head back to the house at the end.

Brock & Barbara Jean again exhaust me with their separation. I really didn't care what happened to them at this point and when she announces her plan to move to Arkansas for her job I was like "Bye!"

In the end she decides to stay in Houston and work on her marriage to Brock. Reba is happy and actually calls BJ her best friend and they hug. Then everyone decides to take a family picture and Kyra and Jake appear from the kitchen even though everyone's acting like they were never really a central part of the show.

Really....Brock, BJ. Reba, Cheyenne and Van are all looking back together on the past 6 years together like it was always just them. No Kyra or Jake in sight that I began wondering if they were even going to be in the end scene or on the phone like FOL did to poor Natalie and Tootie her best friend of 9 years just hung up on her in the final few seconds.

But just as Van is setting up the camera, in walk a sullen Kyra & Jake like they knew they weren't really a part of this but took part because they had too.

Also telling is how Kyra is standing next to Cheyenne and her hands are folded in front of her rather than putting her arm around Cheyenne or vice versa. I suspect discord between them from that body language. Pictures always tell a deeper story!

Then it ended and i'm upset for 2 reasons....I have no more Reba to watch on weekend evenings anymore and that Reba ended without giving her a love interest. Even Van said what we all were probably thinking....poor Reba is all alone!

But she says she's not with her big dysfunctional family around her (neither Kyra or Jake was in the room when she said it!)

I would've liked to have seen Reba at least MEET someone that implied a lasting relationship to come for her....even if it were the final 30 seconds where she bumps into someone in the supermarket and their eyes meet telling us something good is coming for Reba ahead.

But no....she winds up a middle aged divorcee all alone forever and ever.

I'd love to see a reunion show where they all come back and we see Reba happily married with someone.

I think i'll wait a while and then pop in the first few seasons again. This is a show I can watch over--at least the first 3 seasons.

Well that's it for Reba!! Onto Rhoda next Saturday. I don't know if that's a show worthy of discussion, but if it is---i'll be heading over to the Rhoda board to either praise it or tear it apart!

I just realized that it's entirely possible for Cheyenne to be a grandmother by now since Elizabeth would be 18 and history repeated itself.

Haha you’re right! I guess they still held out hope that there would be another season and they thought giving Reba a love interest would spell certain end for the series. The premise of the show is Reba being a divorcee. So what are your final thoughts on s6? Like the last 3 eps or...? I wouldn’t read much in that picture, Scarlett might still be self concours about her weight and just wanted to keep to herself. Who knows? Kyra and Cheyenne in real life are all friends as well as the entire cast, they have a group text they talk everyday. The only one not in this is Jake, I guess he was too young to develop a lasting bond like the rest.

I'm happy to be proven wrong in my impression of the picture and that they're all close today and group text. I love that! I guess Scarlett was still feeling a little insecure being back which is understandable and it showed a little in her acting.

As far as my final impressions of season 6?....What I noticed most of all (other than Melissa's massive weight loss) was how funnier the character of Van became.

Before season 6 he was kind of dumb and goofy, but in the final season he was just funnier both with is lines and his acting. Most of his scenes in s6 had me LOL when in earlier seasons i'd just roll my eyes at his stupidity.

Reba thankfully never changed and stayed consistent through the entire series and I like that. I just hate there wasn't a final season to set up for her long term happiness with a partner. But they emphasized in the end how her family brings her happiness....but like Van said in the end "SHE'S ALL ALONE!!"

Brock & BJ were insufferable by s6. I just couldn't take either one of them, so in a nutshell it's Van, Cheyenne and Reba who make that final season work and without them it would've been unwatchable imo.

I hope one day they get together for a reunion show but sadly I don't think the show was ever that big to warrant one.

At least I have the dvds to watch over again whenever I want. It's definitely a show i'd revisit again.

Well that’s awesome that it warrants a rewatch for you! I rewatch it constantly. I agree Van has great comedic timing and really shines in s6. A spin off with Cheyenne and Van would’ve been great to me too.

Reba has lots of fans who will watch anything with her in it. The final season was the highest rated comedy on the new CW, and the show is constantly rerun on tv. I could definitely see it coming back for a reunion or revival.

Forgive me if I overlooked it, but what is your overall grade for this show now that you have seen it all? Was it worth every second or nothing but a complete and total waste of time?

God bless you always!!!

If I were rating it on a 1 to 10 scale I'd put it at a solid 7. There were things that took away ratings for me like the recycled plots and the unevenness of the overall show especially from season 5 to 6 where storylines were just dropped.

Also Kyra's season long absence made a dent on things too but of course that's not her fault. And BJ's antics were a bit over the top at times for me. By the end I wanted to toss her out a window! 🤣

And not giving Reba a partner in the end was not what I would've chose. After 6 seasons it would've been a nice way to close the show giving her happiness in a new relationship.

But I still loved the show and a 7 is a good rating imo.

I don't care for this episode. It contradicts what Van said to Cheyenne in the season 5 finale. He said he always loved Cheyenne for how she was before she tried being a better person. Now in this episode, we're told Van couldn't stand her and wanted a way out of not having to date her in high school? I can't stand how they always need the useless drama between the couples in the show.

To be fair, that is going way back to HS when they were 17--and possibly even earlier if they dated a while---so maybe even 16. And from what I gather that the rival was saying, this was before they even started dating so probably didn't even know each other that well.

So i'd give that a pass since they were both young teens and i'm sure his feelings changed once he started dating Cheyenne.

That doesnt contradict that. S2 ep 8 Switch we found out Van had his buddy call him to say his dog ate a spark plug to get out of a bad date. Cheyenne replies that she was with him then. Clearly they didnt hit it off at first.

I'd say 7 is a fantastic rating! You never said whether or not you liked the last 3 episodes though. You seemed to but is s6 a 5/13 an 8/13 or something else?

I liked "She's With the Band" because it was a Kyra focused episode, and I liked "The Housewarming" because of the fire Van started.

The finale "The Kids Are Alright" for Van, Cheyenne & Reba. You're not going to like me for this because I know you love Barbara Jean...but by these last 3 episodes, she annoyed the crap out of me.

I wish the last 3 episodes had more focus on Van, Cheyenne and Kyra and less Brock & BJ stuff and I felt their separation and bickering detracted from things because we've seen all that before.

I still enjoyed the last 3 episodes so added to the 5 I liked out of the others---that makes it 8 out of 13 which isn't bad.

The standouts for me are "Trading Spaces" and "As We Forgive Those" with Kelly Clarkson. (I still feel like an idiot for thinking she was Reese Witherspoon till I realized it was Kelly).

This was definitely a better final season than FOL was imo. I forgot how many episodes of FOL final season I liked out of the total, but I remember so many stinkers and Reba wasn't nearly as bad.
