Default Why didn’t Ann’s father just buy her a chastity belt?

He was very concerned about Don deflowering her. A chastity belt would have saved him a lot of surprise visits to Ann’s apartment.

I always felt like Donald's patience was one of those eternal TV questions that defied an answer........such as how did Granny Clampett ever become a mother, or what did Thelma Lou do for an income?

I bet if he had done that, Ann would have refused to wear it. Lou was way too possessive of his adult daughter. It is too bad Marlo Thomas didn't want her character married, yes Ann should be able to make it on her own but with Don being her constant boyfriend who wasn't going anywhere they should have gotten married in the season 4 finale. Then season 5 could have been an entire season with them married and morally acceptable to live together.

Smile More Than One Way

If he had Ann probably would have had a built in peep hole installed. A rather large peep hole for Donald but what Lou doesn't know won't hurt her.
