Wink Guess Who Showed Up In 1970?

Well, well, today being my Green Acres day I'm now up to 6.7 "Eb's Double Trouble" there were 2 new girls introduced into the series. One of them was strange because she was supposedly Eb's long time girlfriend, even though she's never been seen or mentioned before (though she was super cute). The second girl though looked slightly familiar to me but I couldn't remember where I've seen her before. It may have been her beautiful mini mini skirt that distracted my thoughts and her nice lookin' legs. So I checked out the end credits to see who she was, WHAT??? It was Kris Nelson!

Her smile was what was familiar to me but on Green Acres she has brown hair which threw me, in O&H I believe her hair was blonde or a sandy color. The first thing I noticed after her mini skirt was that she kept laughing or trying not to let it show whenever Eb said something funny. She must have thought Eb was a funny guy or talked funny, because it seemed like she was really laughing and it wasn't part of her character.

So there you have it, Kris Nelson in 1970 on Green Acres. I think this was probably after she used up David Nelson's fame for herself and divorced and moved on with her "career". She also looked a lot younger in 1970 than she did in 1960, guess they just had her dressing and hair styled like she was a middle aged woman in O&H rather than a young girl.

Anyway, it sure was a "surprise, surprise, surprise" as Gomer would say seeing Kris on Green Acres. Gomer is my Thursday show.

Hi HA. Did you watch the ep from a DVD, file or from a channel?

I came across a 4 1/2 min clip of the ep on You Tube. It was nice to see her in a new context. I’m going to see if I find the ep someplace and watch it all. It was fun watching Eb go all goo goo eyes over her and to see poor confused Mr. Kimball uphold his perfect record = of getting things wrong!

And yes, I agree she got a lot of her fame by riding on Rick’s and the Nelsons’ coat tails. Although she wasn’t without show biz talent- she couldn’t hold a candle to Rick or Harriet.

Way later on, Kris became a very accomplished artist and her work, IMO, is very nice. I think she has a great sense of color.

Always love a new O & H thread! Thx

Wink It's All The Way With DVDs

I saw this Green Acres ep. on DVD, 99.999% of every classic TV show I watch is always on DVD now (used to always be on tape). Only show I watch nowadays NOT on DVD are the O&H programs I downloaded on to my thumb drive and computer.

By the way there's still a problem with watching the thumbdrive on my TV. The Sony TV I have will only show the first 29 programs on the first menu screen so once I want to look at the other 230 shows beyond the first menu screen I'll be out of luck. My TV will not move beyond that 1st menu screen, even when I push the "More" button, it just sits there showing the first menu.

So after I watch these 29 shows I'll be out of luck. Sony or somebody must know how to make the menu screen move beyond the first page for Mp4s but I sure don't.

Had a feeling it was from a DVD.

Re your TV, it’s way past my technical knowledge. Perhaps start a new thread re this problem; this way many will see it and someone from S.O. might now. Sometimes reaching out to the manufacturer works really well too.
Good luck, and hope you solve this glitch.

These newer TVs can be a problem. My older TV had multiple RCA inputs, and I need them for multiple devices. The newer LG TV has only one set, and no external connector which will allow multiple connections will work with this TV. So I have to change the connections every time.

I will say the mfr. LG had the answer when I called them--they verified it won't work. I didn't like the answer, but they had it.

Default Mr. Wizard Speaks

Well, once again I can come to the rescue on this one. Did you ever get that "PC to TV" converter rig I told you about that was perfect for using on a DVD recorder to record PC shows?

But for my latest sample of brilliance. A couple years ago when I got my new TV I found I had the same problem. My old TV was great in that it had all the RCA connections I needed to hook up all my different players and recorders. But the new TV had only ONE!!! set of RCA connectors (those are the yellow/white/orange connections that go from a DVD or VCR player to your TV). So I bought a splitter that you can hook several different RCA connections from several different players/recorders into and all those are then combined in this one splitter which has one Yellow/White/Orange RCA connection output which then goes into your TV's one RCA connection Input. Hope you get what I'm saying. It's the same idea that antenna splitters are used for combining several different DVD recorders and using only one Cable connection or regular antenna connection for all of them.

I bought a few of these RCA connection splitters at Big Lots several years ago. But I'm sure you can find them on Amazon or even at Walmart or Best Buy. With the RCA splitter you can once again hook up several different DVD players and recorders and have them all go thru the splitter which then connects to the one RCA Input on the back of the TV.

Simple huh? Now I wish someone could tell me how to solve my Sony Menu screen problem. By the way I did try the Sony manufacturer but they don't have a phone # you can call and only their useless website that offers solutions to problems I don't have.

The splitters don't work with this TV. Wish I could explain why. They SHOULD but they don't, and LG backs up that it wouldn't work.

Yes I did buy the device, but to be honest I haven't tried it yet. Somehow I don't think my old DVD recorder will be "happy" with it. But I SHOULD try it.

The type splitter I described should work it only involves the simple orange/white/yellow connections. Your TV RCA orange/white/yellow input will accept the splitter as good as it would accept any one DVD player. You do need to choose on the Splitter which of the several RCA player inputs you want to feed into the TV back. Once you choose which one you want to feed into the TV it should show it.

One problem all TVs have different names for the basic functions they all do. So I don't know what your particular TV names the RCA connection Input it has on the back of the TV but whatever it calls it, choose it on the menu of the TV then choose which player you want to play on the splitter and all should work without a problem.
