Default A Complete Happy Days Future Blu-ray Boxset

Hey Happy Days fans I have a question whereas I want to get y'all opinion on it. CBS/Paramount will be releasing for the first time in history on Blu-ray the 1960 Mission Impossible tv show. With allot of pressuring do you think if CBS/Paramount would ever released on Blu-ray all 255 episodes of Happy Days that they would have to seriously clear all of the original music from the original network broadcasting and not the syndicated network versions will all original uncut scenes and as a bonus features Love American Style which pretty much set the tone for the series and Fonz and the Happy Days Gang animated series let me know what you all think.

Sounds fantastic. A dream come true. That's what I think.

i think they've pretty much abandoned new dvd/bluray releases - unless it is coming from someone like Shout factory or Rhino or something, I don't think it is happening

Hey Robyrob I wish I could agree with you on that but I cannot speak for CBS/Paramount but I honesty believe that they are getting due to how popular Mission Impossible is that they are testing the waters to see how well the complete blu-ray border sells. I still believe that there is going to be massive pressure on them to do Happy Days in blu-ray so I wouldn't underestimate their thinking about what they want to do but if they decide to do this they are really going to have as uncomfortable as it is to go back to their original 16 or 35mm with the original negative elements whereas im sure that in their vaults that they have at their disposal. Again it really depends on what the fans want but if they do decide to do that whereas i cannot speak for them that they are really going to have to clear all of the original music from the original networks and since we will never see the remaining 5 season then this will be their opportunity whereas i don't know but we will have to wait and see but it really depends on how the Mission Impossible blu-ray boxsets goes which could be key but who knows.

Sadly, you might be right, but you never know.

we will see CBS Paramount was probably under pressure of doing Mission Impossible i think that the original Hawaii Five 0 from the 60s will be next to be released on blu-ray remastered in their original film negative elements but I still believe through the assumption of popularity Happy Days might be next but who knows.

Given how long ago they started issuing HD on DVD, the entire series should have been out by now.

We don't even have season 7 yet, so I doubt we'll be seeing the entire series on blu-ray.

If it were to come out, maybe they should farm it out to Shout Factory, who managed to secure 85% of the original music for their WKRP In Cincinnati complete series set.

I would like to see the original music restored, like "Rock Around The Clock" for the season two episodes, and hi-def transfers in the original aspect ratio.

But I doubt we're even going to get the series complete on DVD, so I'm not gonna get my hopes up. It should have happened by now.

You are absolutely right but if Shout Factory would to ever obtain the Happy Days series they would have to negotiate some kind of deal to acquire all of the original flim 35mm or 16mm elements to work while at the same time remastering them but seriously they would have to get the film elements from the original network negative films with all of the original music with everything being uncut with WKRP they secured as much music as they could Happy Days wouldn't be as hard as WKRP but we would have to.wait and see.

It's a nice thought, but I'm guessing that poor sales stopped them from going forward with seasons 7-11 on DVD. It probably didn't help that the first 4 seasons came out with a gap of several years until the release of seasons 6 & 7 due to the lawsuit brought forward by some of the cast members due to unpaid merchandising royalties.

I did see a bootleg set advertised oniine for season 7, but they wanted $70 for it!! The nerve! There's no way it can be sourced from the original master reels.

Isn't it something that a show that ended in 1984 has these problems of being put on discs?

Seems like this might be a good show for Visual Entertainment (VEI) to finish since they have released several CBS Paramount shows. It could also be done by CBS manufacture on demand on Amazon like My Three Sons was. Both of those companies seem more likely than Shout Factory for this show as Shout mainly does Sony shows.

At least Me-TV is showing the Happy Days episodes apparently uncut right now. Right now, they're on season 8. Looks so good that you don't have to wait till those later eps. come out on DVD. These uncut eps. on Me-TV sorta make Happy Days on DVD look bad. LOL!

I don't know if anyone had a chance to read the previous post that I had posted up but I had mentioned that how I gave MeTv credit for somewhat showing Happt Days uncut but still it was still in syndication where there was still scenes missing with allot of the original music but despite of they did what they could do but I will say this which was a surprising that they were able to get the stay tuned bumper but I still want to see the series on Blu-ray with everything uncut and how it was shown originally but I honesty believe that there is a outside studio out there who would love to get their hands on Happy Days but that remains to be seen but to be continued.
