Yeah, I always knew her final scene wasn't her walking upstairs. I wonder where people got that one from.

No doubt there were many episodes during her last season or two where she delivered her one line and then ran upstairs. The two (her disappearance as well as the running upstairs) got conflated. Seems like a normal human reaction, IMO.

And it also fits so good into the story of how badly she was treated.
"The poor kid went upstairs and was never seen again" sounds believable.
