Hello everyone,
I hope you are all staying safe and social distancing during this pandemic. I originally got rid of my list on the page due to not getting any more leads. I can happily say that a lot of the lost workprints I've been looking for have been found. So here's my updated trade list as of April 27,2020 54 (1998) Workprint 200 Cigarettes (1999) Workprint Adrenalin: Fear The Rush (1996) Workprint The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai (1984) Workprint American History X (1998) Workprint American Pie (1999) Workprint American Psycho (2000) Workprint An American Werewolf In Paris (1997) Workprint Apocalypse Now (1979) Workprint Apt Pupil (1998) Workprint Arcade (1993) Workprint Arlington Road (1999) Workprint Army of Darkness (1993) Workprint The Astronaut’s Wife (1999) Workprint Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (1997) Workprint Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) Workprint The Bachelor (1999) Workprint Bad Boys (1995) Workprint Barbershop (2002) Workprint Batman Returns (1992) Workprint Beetlejuice (1988) Workprint Beowulf (1999) Workprint The Big Lebowski (1998) Workprint The Blair Witch Project (1999) Workprint Boiler Room (2000) Workprint Boogie Nights (1997) Workprint Bride of Re-Animator (1990) Workprint A Bug’s Life (1998) Workprint The Burbs (1989) Workprint Canadian Bacon (1995) Workprint *Russian dub Casper (1995) Workprint Chasing Amy (1997) Workprint Children of the Corn 2 (1992) Workprint Cliffhanger (1993) Workprint Copland (1997) Work print The Corruptor (1999) Workprint Crash (1996) Workprint Creepshow (1982) Workprint The Crow (1994) Workprint A The Crow (1994) Workprint B The Crow (1994) Workprint C Cruel Intentions (1999) Workprint Cyborg (1989) Workprint Dark City (1998) Workprint The Dark Half (1993) Workprint Darkman 2: The Return of Durant (1995) Workprint Darkness Falls (2003) Workprint The Day After (1983) Workprint Dazed & Confused (1993) Workprint Death Race (2008) Workprint Design (1984) Workprint Detroit Rock City (1999) Workprint Die Hard 2 (1990) Workprint Don’s Plum (2001) Workprint Dracula (1992) Workprint Election (1999) Workprint Evil Breed: The Legend of Samhain (2003) Workprint Evil Dead 2 (1987) Workprint eXistenZ (1999) Workprint The Fast and the Furious (2001) Workprint Fight Club (1999) Workprint Football Factory (2004) Workprint Frankenstein (1994) Workprint Freaked (1993) Workprint Freddy’s Dead The Final Nightmare (1991) Workprint Friday The 13th Part 4: The Final Chapter (1984) Workprint From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) Workprint From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999) Workprint From Dusk Til Dawn 3: The Hangman’s Daughter (2000) Workprint The Game (1997) Workprint Gangs of New York (2002) Workprint Gattaca (1997) Workprint George of the Jungle (1997) Workprint Girl, Interrupted (1999) Workprint The Girl Next Door (2004) Workprint The Great Mouse Detective (1986) Workprint Gremlins (1984) Workprint Grizzly 2 The Predator Workprint *Unreleased Halloween (2007) Workprint Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) *5 disc set Halloween H20 (1998) Workprint Halloween: Resurrection (2002) Workprint Version B Halloween: The Homecoming (2002) Workprint Version A Hard Target (1993) Workprint A Hard Target (1993) Workprint B Heavenly Creatures (1994) Workprint Heavy Metal (1981) Workprint A Heavy Metal (1981) Workprint B Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth (1992) Workprint Hellraiser 4: Bloodline (1996) Workprint Highlander 2: The Quickening (1992) Workprint Highlander: Endgame (2000) Workprint Holy Man (1998) Workprint Hostel: Part 2 (2007) Workprint How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) Workprint Hulk (2003) Workprint I'll Do Anything (1994) Workprint I Woke Up Early The Day I Died (1998) Workprint Idle Hands (1999) Workprint In The Mouth Of Madness (1995) Workprint Intruder (1989) Workprint Iron Giant (1999) Workprint Jackie Brown (1997) Workprint Jakob The Liar (1999) Workprint Jason Goes To Hell (1993) Workprint Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back (2001) Workprint Kids (1995) Workprint Kids In The Hall: Brain Candy (1996) Workprint Kill Bill Volume 1 (2003) Workprint Knock Off (1998) Workprint LA Confidential (1997) Workprint Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 (1990) Workprint A Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 (1990) Workprint B Little Shop Of Horrors (1986) Workprint The Lion King (1994) Workprint The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride (1998) Workprint The Living Daylights (1987) Workprint Los Enchiladas! Still looking for the following workprints. They were being traded at one point and they have since disappeared. Also looking for any that are not in circulation.
Armageddon (1998) Blade (1998) Disturbing Behavior (1998) The Faculty (1998) Go (1999) The Replacement Killers (1998) |

Hi,
I saw your list and just thought I would reply. I don't really collect movie workprints and are more interested in the older classic TV shows more than anything else, but I am a big Star Trek fan, particularly the original series. One thing I noticed on your list that you have is the 1994 Workprint of the movie Star Trek Generations which is the original "rough cut" version of the film before they refilmed the ending for the final theatrical release. I have this also from a collector in the UK (who I've heard has since retired) that he transferred to DVD under the title The Workprint Collection. Unfortunately, the VHS tape source he used from the studio of origin was in barely watchable condition, and was nearly unwatchable in places. I don't suppose your copy of the 1994 Star Trek Generations movie Workprint is in even slightly better condition. Just curious more than anything else. That's actually the only remotely close thing to a movie workprint I have. I'm afraid the best I could do was to create a "deleted and altered scenes" disc from STG from assorted sources including the clips made available by the long now-defunct Section 31.com on Youtube, the workprint itself (at least the collector's DVD of it) a lot of which were not included in the Section 31.com/Youtube clips I assume because of the poor condition they were in, and the retail DVD with 4 deleted scenes including the first "Kirk dies" alternate ending. From what I understand, none of the ST fans liked either ending, even the reshot one where Captain Kirk was supposed to have died "more heroically". And the clips I used were copies of copies. What I call better than nothing. It's not great but it will do I guess. Just fyi. Thanks for listening. Black Sheep One Quote:

. Unfortunately, my copy is the unwatchable version that's out there. I've heard rumours of a better quality copy out there but it's hoadered. I actually came this close to getting a workprint of Star Trek Insurrection (1998) a few months ago but I haven't heard back from the guy. If I ever do get that better quality copy I'll be more than happy to give you a copy. Workprint wise I'm still looking for the missing stuff, Blade, Armageddon, Replacement Killers or pretty much anything that was in trading circles in the 90's.As far as classic TV shows, I collect those as well. My main hunt right now is the Serpico series, I managed to find 7 episodes and I'm after the remaining 9 episodes. Thank you and stay safe, |

Hi Jeff,
Thought that might be the case on that 1994 Star Trek Generations Workprint (original version). It seems all that's available currently is that unwatchable version that I already have on DVD from the UK and I guess I can consider myself fortunate to have found it as it is. It's difficult to sit through but I can manage it okay considering most of the video material included in it was either altered for the "final version" (theatrical release) of the film or deleted from it completely. As I remember from this DVD, the "rough cut" total running time was a little over 2 hours and 9 minutes length. It would have been longer I would imagine had the opening and end credits been added but my guess is this was done before those were come up with by the makers of it. I've sent a copy of the disc to a collector buddy of mine who has more expertise and access to software than I have to at least try and see if he can possibly clean it up to where it's slightly more watchable but not realistically having any hope that he's able to accomplish it. I'm not counting on it. On the bright side I did finish my own disc of the combined "altered and deleted scenes" from the STG rough cut original version which is mostly the same quality as the Workprint DVD but each set of scenes are separated by black space and begins with "STG Cut Footage" like is on the Section31.com videos from Youtube (only as a freeze-frame). I even put their disclaimer at the beginning of the disc to warn the viewer in advance of the poor quality, lol....Better than nothing I suppose. Good luck on finding the TV series Serpico. Didn't that star David Birney (Bridget Loves Bernie, Testimony Of Two Men miniseries, Saint Elsewhere)? Unfortunately I don't have that show at all but have heard of it, never saw it though. I know the feeling about your searching all too well. I've been looking for a bunch of rare 70's TV series along the crime drama lines not released on DVD officially such as: Chase (1973) (Mitchell Ryan) (Jack Webb-Executive Producer) O'Hara United States Treasury (1971) (David Janssen) (Jack Webb-Executive Producer) The D.A. (1971) (Robert Conrad) (Jack Webb-Executive Producer) The Manhunter (1974) (Ken Howard) (Quinn Martin-Producer) Banyon (1972) (Robert Forster) (Quinn Martin-Producer) Sword Of Justice (1978) (Dack Rambo) (Glen Larson-Producer) Stuff like that. I've only located a few episodes or pilot movies for them here and there in the collector market. I found the pilot movie of The Manhunter (1974) titled Manhunter released on VHS in 1986 retail and managed to convert it to DVD besides finding 7 episodes of the series from film prints on VHS to DVD. Chase I've only found 12 episodes of on 6 discs; no pilot movie for it from 1973 also titled Chase anywhere whatsoever although that series total 22 episodes and pilot movie are reportedly at the UCLA Television & Film Archive for "research purposes only", no public access. Banyon, just the pilot movie and 2 episodes of the 16 episode series, one of which (# 5) has the sound out of sync, again beyond my expertise. Had to settle for it, audio defects and all. From a film print, VHS-DVD. The most complete series of the lot is O'Hara US Treasury; I have 18 episodes (A & E TV airings, late 80's), the pilot movie Operation Cobra (UK version with audio introduction by Jack Webb not included in the US syndication airings) and the remaining missing 4 episodes which were made into 2 TV movies Ladies Of Crime and The Counterfeit Green. I'm afraid those are as close to those 4 episodes as I can currently get.... The above shows are either owned originally by CBS-Paramount (Manhunter), Warner Bros. (Banyon), and Universal (the rest) so go figure. There are other shows I'm looking for, too numerous to list. Thanks for listening. Black Sheep One (Jim) Quote:

Good luck on your hunt as well. I do have some rare tv shows. Most recently I picked up a copy of Bob Denver's 70 series "Far Out Space Nuts" it's said to be really rare.

Hi, just thought of something in regards to Star Trek Generations that I wanted to share with you while I was thinking about it. I don't know if you're a Trek fan or was interested in the franchise overall or not or if you were aware of it, but in the process of compiling the material for my disc of STG deleted and altered scenes that I put together from all of those assorted sources (1:25 length total), I ran across and included a 7 minute or so long clip of what has been described as an "Alternate Ending 2" which is slightly different from the 10 minutes long clip that was included on the official Paramount "Collector's Edition" DVD set as one of their Special Features under the category of Deleted Scenes. I don't know if you've even seen either clip, but the 7 minute one is on Youtube along with others from the Workprint (which appear to look as if someone had tried to clean them up) that the now-defunct Section31.com ST fan group originated (someone else reposted them apparently) that are still also on Youtube.
The 7 minute clip in question was initially made by a fan in Brazil and is also online elsewhere (TrekCore.com I think). It starts with the bad guy Dr. Soran (Malcolm McDowell) on the metal platform confronted instead of Captain Picard by Captain Kirk. It includes background music (which was borrowed from the Kevin Costner frontier epic Dances With Wolves, a film I presume was also made by Paramount so they were able to use the music from it for the extended fight scene) and special effects (such as the energy ribbon for example). The music plays as they fistfight and the scene concludes with Kirk being shot in the back with a phaser by Soran, Picard shooting him after the ribbon leaves, then Kirk dying next to Picard on the platform, followed by the burial and Picard meeting a landing starship shuttle afterwards. Unlike the original 10 minute long clip in which Kirk simply dies without saying a word, in this 7 minute clip he actually gets a few lines. He asks Picard, "Did we make a difference?" Picard replies, "Yes, thank you." And with Kirk resting a hand on Picard's shoulder, he tells Picard, "It was the least I could do...for the Captain of the Enterprise" for his last words. It sure was an improvement over, "It was....fun", and "oh my...." which William Shatner used as Kirk's final words in the theatrical version of Star Trek Generations. lol.... And certainly better than him not saying anything at all before dying that's for sure. Btw some trivia. Contrary to popular belief (like Harrison Ford's Han Solo being killed off in Star Wars-The Force Awakens more recently) it was not William Shatner's decision to have the character of Captain Kirk die in Star Trek Generations, either ending. He clarified the matter in an interview a few years back and said that it was mainly a financial decision on the part of respectively movie producer Rick Berman, the two screenwriters Ronald Moore and Brannon Braga (now a producer of The Orville TV series), and the executives in charge at Paramount studios at the time. The parties above thought that they could "pass the torch" from the original series and movie cast (who were all getting older and sadly too old to continue playing their roles, DeForest Kelley aka Dr. McCoy who by then was in ill health and I believe passed away before STG came out) to the Next Generation. They also felt that the Next Generation movies would make more money but it didn't work out. Only Generations and First Contact of the four NG movies made money. Insurrection underperformed and Nemesis outright bombed at the box office plus got negative critical reviews. In fact, Brent Spiner (Data who was killed off in Nemesis but I believe at his own request) had co-written a script for a fifth and last NG movie that would have satisfactorily concluded the franchise, but the project was cancelled after Nemesis bombed. Paramount then decided to simply reboot the franchise which is how the Star Trek 2009 with Chris Pine and company was started. And with it, we got the alternative Kelvin Timeline that ST fans overall hate. Lastly, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley were reportedly both offered cameo appearances in STG, and Nimoy wanted to direct it, but didn't approve of the script. I guess he like everyone else did not like the idea of Captain Kirk being killed off either (originally it was supposed to be a Next Generation character but they decided on Kirk for some dumb reason). Nimoy besides declining the chance to direct also elected not to appear in the movie, saying that anyone could have said the lines intended for Spock and Dr. McCoy. Which was why Scotty and Chekov got the lines instead. And as for DeForest Kelley, the story goes that he could not get health insurance because of his current condition. Just as well since he passed away I believe before production started. I think he died in 1993. Trek fans were not happy with either ending filmed where Captain Kirk was killed. Plus, Malcolm McDowell got a lot of hate mail from irate Trekkers after the initial ending was seen at a test screening for the movie. He is one of 7 actors in a Youtube video who hated working on Star Trek supposedly. Nimoy also said that he and Kelley found their characters both had sufficient closure in the previous installment Star Trek VI-The Undiscovered Country the sixth and last film starring the original classic series cast and therefore it wasn't necessary for them to appear in STG. I think it would have been much better had he directed it and all of the original series cast members appeared in the beginning, not just Kirk, Scotty and Chekov. I guess the actors salaries would have been a factor as well. I can only imagine the paycheck Whoopi Goldberg (Guinan on ST-Next Generation series) got for her few minutes of screen time and she was uncredited in the movie's opening and end credits even though she appeared during the movie in several scenes. Thought you might find the aforementioned info of some interest or amusement. Some of the people on Youtube who saw the 7 minute clip have made fun of or criticized its poor quality in their reviews. I concluded it was slightly better than the film footage used in the 1994 STG Workprint. Thanks for listening. Black Sheep One

P.S. Congrats on finding Far Out Space Nuts. Two other rare TV series that Bob Denver (best known forever as Gilligan) starred in I've found as collector sets on DVD but not complete are:
The Good Guys (1969-1971) which consists of 9 of the 44 episodes which were never in syndication after the initial CBS run; pilot included. Dusty's Trail (1973-1974) (Western sitcom) co-starring Forrest Tucker (of F Troop in the 60's) also created by Sherwood Schwartz of Gilligan's Island with Bob Denver as Dusty the scout (who could have been a distant ancestor of Gilligan for all we know, the characters were so similar and both a hopeless klutz who always messed up) which has been described as "Gilligan's Island In The West". Lasted 1 season in syndication and never aired on CBS-TV originally contrary to information online. I have found 20 of the total 26 episodes (they're in public domain today) and the DVD release of the movie The Wackiest Wagon Train In The West made from 4 episodes including the pilot, The Not-So-Magnificent Seven, which I found on Youtube along with episodes 2 and 8--There's Nothing Like A Dame and Tomahawk Territory--respectively. 17 episodes of the 26 surfaced in a 2007 retail set, which is now out of print (Brentwood Home Video). I have yet to find the remaining 5 but did locate episode 12 Danger Stranger from a collector a few months ago which gives me a grand total of 21 episodes from the series. I seriously doubt I'll find those other 5 (missing). Just fyi. Hope you enjoyed reading. Black Sheep One.

Hey guys, been awhile since I updated my list. My last post was regarding Blade, in the last message I received, I was told a Twister workprint is confirmed to exist.
Finally, I'm in the process of getting the Run Ronnie Run (2002) Workprint. Hopefully more rarities pop up. |

I don't care for workprints as much as you do. But I hope you find a copy of Twister, I would love to trade for that.

Same here, I've been lucky that way a few times. I'm sure one of these days I'll find more of what's missing.
