Default Complete Series DVD Review

Just finished with the set and it very enjoyable with a lot of surprises that I never noticed in syndication. Here are the results after going though the entire series.

Total of Three Glitches

Season Three-Disc 3

Oh Say Can You See: The episode cuts off at the 4:21 mark when Mike is asking Archie why he is reading the paper from a distance

Gloria the Victim: The episode cuts off at the 5:08 mark when Gloria sits next to Edith in the kitchen

Season 9-disc 3

Too Good Edith-episode freezes at the 6:14 mark when Edith is in the kitchen

Episode Order on DVD

Seasons 1 to 6 is in production order
Seasons 7 to 9 is in airdate order

Summary

So out of 9 seasona only 3 episodes was glitchy so I am not going to make a huge deal over that. Still a great set with nice features but the 200th episode celebration from season 9 was only good the last 3 mins because I seen flashbacks of the show so many times but it was nice to see since it was never shown in syndication. All the bonuses were great. The unaired pilot episode of Gloria theme reminded me of Newhart's theme from the 80's. I didnt watch the Archie Bunker's pilot episode because I am still waiting to get the full set in sept so I rather watch it all together. And it was nice to see the Pilot of 704 hauser street with John Amos

Thanks for the review. I never knew there were glitchy episodes in the set. Time for a rewatch anyway though.

Who is doing the complete Archie set? Is it Mantronix or someone else?

Yup I put those same 3 episodes in over and over and they freeze or cutoff at the same spot. Someone from here is working with Mantronix to add the missing episode from the set called Murray's Goodbye so it can be complete

If not then I wont buy a incomplete set.

You should ask Shout to send you replacement discs. My All in The Family set doesn't have any glitches. The episodes you mention play fine.

Not necessary, 3 eps out of 200 is not a big deal

Shout will send them though if you ever decide to. My Maude set had an error on the season 3 disc 3. I emailed Shout and they sent me a replacement. I didn’t even have to send in the bad disc. They’re very professional, or at least in my situation they were

I tried to get them to replace one of my Designing Women discs and they refused to replace them, simply because I bought them off eBay.

That's what I figured. But I am not going to sweat since I was still able to watch the episode. I just had to go past those marks

I didn’t buy my sets off eBay. I’m surprise they wouldn’t do an exchange though since they’re getting the defective disc. I bought my Maude set through Shout. I was probably one of the very few who paid the most expensive shipping to get it right away. I remember just like my Facts of Life set, I got it a little over a month before the release date. It was worth it.
