Default My Brother's Girl

So how did the much older Maryellen Rodgers end up tricking Beaver to have lunch with her 3 days in a row ... when both Beav & Wally both hate girls ?

Really doesn't make sense ...

And Wally deciding to actually go with Maryellen makes even less sense .. Eddie was already promised and I'm sure together Wally & Eddie would have a much better time then with "a girl" ! lol

I think beaver had a small crush on her. He seemed a little sad and felt used a little after they went off together.

You're right, he related that to Ward. He didn't know he didn't like girls yet.

Check. The best scene on the episode IMO was was Beaver relaying his confused observations to Ward at the kitchen table. Ward was giving him an honest and pragmatic explanation. June walks in and takes Ward to task for imparting this wisdom on Beaver. Ward fires back, righteously, with Beaver backing him up. June fires back with a 75mm armor piercing round of the female side of the girl/boy ju-jitsu, more or less "ordering" Ward to impart her view vis-a-vis Wally & Maryellen. Ward , feeling no less righteous in his views knows nonetheless he's cooked, not wanting to escalate things further. Beaver, witnessing all this, is dumbfounded. The way he pulled off that look is classic. Ward's explanation of the sudden turnabout confuses Beaver even more, but Ward let's him know he's in good company regarding that confusion.

Great scene, fantastic character dynamics.

Is that when June says she’s proud of MaryEllen otherwise the whole frontier would be buffalo, jack rabbits and grizzly bears.

Yes, during that conversation. At the end when Ward capitulates, Beaver is absolutely stunned. His facial expression is classic, the best ever on the whole show through all seasons.
