btw i left out that though she was only suppose to be signing her book, i had brought her a dvd of very rare TV appearances like her afternoon special, merv griffin show, hollywood squares, etc. She joked and said why do you have all this? but was genuinely thrilled as she said she had none of it.

She then autographed a 70's poster i brought with me just in case, thinking the dvd gift would male her break the stores rule of one book autograph, i at the time was also working on a book about the series, but sadly mack had no interest and then bonnie and pat gone, I felt I couldn't do justice to the series and proposed book. When I met with Glenn he was absolutely thrilled to participate.

Thanks for the memory of a picture that is still etched in my mind.
Nice. There’s an old concept, “Never meet your heroes”. Glad, especially considering who we’re talking about, it all worked out in this case.

Getting back to Fe on Spectrum, Bonnie, have they switched yet? Julie Shows Up tonight. And AB, do you have a group of home shopping channels bunched together? One of those was called Shop Zeal 7. That’s the one that would be switched to FeTV.

Opus thanks, very cool, I enjoy bonnie's enthusiasm for her Lembeck, I too, once I become in TV crush (most from teenhood) I am loyal and remain a lifelong fan.

I had one other encounter with Valerie that came to mind with your picture of Cafe Americain, btw I made a complete dvd set of the short lived series.

Anyway not bragging but I spent my 40 year career in television) as mentioned in several long ago posts) I was fortunate enough to attend the first taping of Cafe with a first row VIP ticket and sat next to Vals' dear friend "Corky" from "Murphy Brown" so between scenes Valerie would come up and consult with her. I remember her pleasant smile and quick first hello, being the "professional" I am I managed not to let the drool that was building in my mouth come out!

Perfect coincidence. I recently picked the complete series of Café Americain on DVD (watched the pilot yesterday, thought I recognized you in the audience.... ).

Now, if you own a copy of the complete run of Sydney you'd be willing to sell, or know someone who does, PM me immediately, if not sooner.

I don't think we have that channel you mentioned, eng51squad51, at least I've never ran across it but I will look again. We live in Tennessee and get most of our channels through Nashville.

Sorry don't have Sydney, not sure why i passed up recording that, probably I was heavily dating someone and not paying attention for shame! LOL.....

Also interesting about you picking up a set of Cafe Americain, I made my set over 15 years ago, Actually its just 10 episodes that i self recorded, obviously the pilot i attended (directed by legend Jim burrows) and ends with the final on May 28, 1994.......Haven't looked at it in years but I assume I included the original commercials.

I have a varied assortment as mentioned of Valerie appearances including "Hollywood Squares actually "Storybook Squares" Val is Little Bo-peep!, Merv Griffin Show, A Late night TBS 80s talk show, Charles Dickens Afterschool Special, and a few of her rarer seldom seen not available on dvd TV movies like First Love, Bride Movie. And practically every promotional interview the cast gave for the CBS reunion special.

And I started the thread and don’t think I’ve watched the network once. (But I kinda knew I wouldn’t. It was mostly just to pass along the info to someone who might be interested).

FETV might be available nationwide streaming now on Sling. It's logo appears included in the Comedy Extra group.

https://www.sling.com/service/extras...edy-plus-extra

It's $35/monthly. Sling Blue ($30 base package) plus $5 (Comedy Extra add-on). I might check it out and verify on Sling in a month or two.

FETV has been on Dish Network that owns Sling, but Sling is a lower cost option without need of a satellite dish. It'd seem it make more sense to be in the Lifestyle Extra package with Hallmark than bundled with the Viacom channels in Comedy Extra, but maybe they figured the Lifestyle pack already has more to offer so they wanted to balance it in Comedy Extra instead. Sling's Total TV Deal with Sling Blue is $50/month and includes all extras plus a 50 hour cloud DVR.

FETV's website (About Us) still doesn't acknowledge Sling carriage as of yet.

I liked watching some of the classic sitcoms on FETV on Fios, but they also air on Antenna. I'm not sure why FETV dropped Mary Tyler Moore and Bob Newhart in favor of Wild Wild West and The Lone Ranger. It seemed like a downgrade but maybe FETV wanted to go in a different direction. Or maybe Weigel got exclusivity for Decades.

FETV also airs a lot of Matlock and Perry Mason later in the day. These air on MeTV.
