On Wikipedia it states:
After the shooting of the film Spring Break was finished, Leppert went unaccompanied to a weekend party. She came home from the party "a different person" according to her close friend Wing Flannagan's testimony. When she was playing in her next film, Scarface, she suddenly returned home after the fourth day of filming. Her mother assumed that Tammy had been afraid of being murdered by someone, and that she had become overtaken by this delusion. Her mother felt obliged to have her examined by a doctor, but after 72 hours in a medical center, Tammy was released and there seemed to be no signs of drug or alcohol use according to doctor statements. Can you give me a theory what happened after she disappeared what do you think happened to her I know this been posted before would like it a fresh new post out of this. |

Probably saw a lot of sex/drug use & was shocked that this was the reality of Hollywood. Most likely she was despondent that her big role was a very small extra part as attractive girl causing a distraction-maybe why she 'returned early' perhaps she believed/had been told she was going to be in a decent sized tole & then worked out her scene was wrapped very quickly-perhaps she put out for the gig & then couldn't deal with what she was given & that she was just one of hundreds of thousands of pretty women going for roles.
I think it seems pretty obvious that today she would have been diagnosed with some personality disorder/mental health problem, possibly an eating disorder as well. As for what happened to her I think it most likely that the friend she was with & her had an argument, he killed her-possibly by accident & then buried the body. The other theory is maybe she did storm away from him & was unlucky enough to run into a sexual predator/killer, I doubt if she had taken her own life her remains wouldn't have been found long ago. |

Why do you keep making new threads knowing that there are pre-existing threads on the same topic? It's repetitive and hopefully will be merged.

Some people believe she may have been a victim of serial killer Christopher Wilder, who was known as the beauty queen killer. He killed in Florida in 1984, but its unclear if he was in Florida when Tammy disappeared in 1983. Pretty sure his whereabouts right before his 1984 killing spree are not known. Wilder's spree was detailed in the movie Easy Prey where he was portrayed by Gerald McRainey. I have always subscribed to that theory, or that the guy who picked her up the day she disappeared had something to do with her disappearance. Either way, the kind of lifestyle and world she was exposed to did her no favors in my humble opinion. |

I think this case is the most misunderstood of maybe all the unsolved mysteries cases. She goes to a party and comes back a totally changed person, a lot of people believe she saw something, but it makes no sense. she was paranoid, she believed that someone was out to get her. But what doesn't make sense is how, well lets say that you see something you shouldn't, and someone wants to kill you to hush you up, why would that make you even doubt your own mothers cooking? you've seen her cook something, yet you still ask your step-brother to try it to make sure it's not poisoned?
Makes no sense, thats not "i've been a witness to something and someone is out to get me", thats paranoia on a whole new level, thats mental illness. What did she do? she went to a party and came back totally different. there was a member of fleetwood mac during the early days who went to some woodstock like event in germany i believe, took acid and came back a totally changed person, left the band, left everything. there are many many cases where someone just after one trip, one dose of some drug and it's led to severe mental illness, paranoia, a complete 180 in behavour, personality.... She was acting in an insane manner with everyone she came into contact with, having your brother taste your own mothers food isn't being scared, it's a paranoia that goes beyond a logical fear of something being out to get you. it's a mental illness, and she just happened to go to a party were drugs were more than likely around. Tammy took some drug that triggered something in her brain, the chemical balance i dunno that set off paranoia and this lack of logic self awareness or whatever but her into a situation where she lost her life. |

A lot of those threads are just too long and repetitive to be worth reading or interacting with now. To the actual topic - I think Tami's mom is a very unreliable narrator. She pushed Tami into show business a bit and has changed her stories a bit over the years. All of her explanations are that xyz stranger either harmed Tami or Tami was afraid, etc. She sued Wilder and then later dropped the suit saying she never believed he had harmed Tami. Just...all over the place to the extent I don't believe much of what she's said. I think the likely truth is Tami was showing signs of mental distress - whether an "actual" illness like bipolar or just "Mom, this acting thing isn't what I thought it would be" and her mom continuing to push and ignore Tami's mental state. Why was Tami even being allowed to go back to California if she was truly as paranoid as her mom said? Wing is presented as a close friend of Tami's, but seems much older than Tami and is described as a "family friend" elsewhere. I think it's totally possible - given where she was dropped off at - that Tami could have left on her own. Especially if she was pregnant and wanted a different life for her kid. I think it's also possible she met with foul play. Overall, I think this is a mystery that would be difficult to solve without previously unheard from friends/acquaintances coming forward with more/new info. https://crimeblogger1983.blogspot.co...n-leppert.html |
