Default An Episode Without Cathy in it ?

Sick In Bed 3 / 10

Anyone know of any others ?

Kinda defeats the whole identical cousins theme ?

At least two other Season 3 episodes don't feature Cathy "A Visit From Uncle Jed" and "Patty Leads A Dog's Life".

Not only these 3 episodes, but "Fiancee for a Day" as well. So that's Four 3rd Season episodes without Cathy.

I wonder why? Perhaps to cover any budget shortfalls for the season due to the move to California and the shorter season with less episodes of amortize costs over? Perhaps Patty wanted a few lighter weeks work wise? Perhaps all of the above.

Is it possible the producers were considering eliminating the identical cousins aspect of the show if the series was renewed for another season. I admit I haven't seen the show in a long while but it seems to me there was less emphasis on the Cathy character in season three. Maybe Patty didn't want to play dual roles, or there was a sense the angle had played itself out. Not sure, just putting it out there.

I agree, I've been thinking the same thing. Also, if the series would have continued for a 4th season in 1966-67, it would have had to make the switch to color, and color filming would have been too expensive with the identical cousins gimmick. That's probably a reason why there wasn't a 4th season. I can envision a 4th season without the Cathy character, they could have said she moved overseas to continue her education as the reason for her departure. A 4th season in color with Patty and friends, boyfriend Richard, brother Ross, and of course her parents would have been fun but it was not meant to be.
