Default Tootie was acting more mature when she filled in for Arnold on Different Strokes in

the 1981-82 season. The 3rd season of FOL. She filled in for Arnold in the ep First day of school when Willis had the marijuana. When she discovered it and didnt act like should have on FOL which was......"Willis is going to be in TROOUBBLE"

She was more calm and acted a lot of older and not child like which is what she was always acting on FOL during that time., Even now when I watch a season 4 episode of FOL, I can see she is back to acting a kid again. She wasnt acting like that around Kimberly

Different roles. She was suppose to be the sassy kid on Facts of Life and could get away with it because there was older characters. On the Different Strokes set, she was the most mature of the child actors and I think the powers that be had enough of Gary Coleman's and Dana Plato's shenanigans.

That would have been Gary Coleman. They had enough whiny kids on the show. Whiny Tootie was part of the storyline of several plots in Season 3 and 4. Or even Season 2 in Gossip.

I think Gary Coleman was having some severe health problems at this time.

I know why arnold was out, but I want to know why was she there because he was out. They had him call in that episode so I was just wondering why they had her come over from FOL

I am watching the First Day of School right now and it mentions that Kimberly is still going to the same school as Tootie (which is obviously Eastland), yet we never seen Kimberly at Eastland, except in Rough Housing. Where all the girls gave Kimberly the cold shoulder and didn't say a single word to her.

I think the writers didn't have enough time to give KIMBERLY lines (remember it's a 23 minutes show): the episode 'Rough housing' was focused on BLAIR vs CINDY with MRS G coming up to the rescue!!!!

The script was already written and the show was ready to shoot. They had to do something. Kim was a known quantity and they knew she could do the part and the lines.

And tomorrow at 12:30pm is the last DS/FOL crossover. Always thought that was odd.
