Default Gloria - Complete Series Review

I was scrolling through YouTube about a week or so ago and found a video with a link to Gloria the complete series in HD quality. I was skeptical until I read the reviews on the seller's site. I went ahead and purchased the set and was extremely impressed when it arrived. The set had professional style artwork and menus. The episodes were in perfect quality, uncut and all 21 of the ones produced are included.

I also bought a few other series from the site (all in the same quality) but this review specifically is about Gloria. The link to the set is below.

His collection is kind of small which was surprising since he has something so rare. I may get this since its never in syndication and not on DVD

I bought the All in the Family set back when it was originally released. It is a great set with tons of great extras.

The store I mentioned also has 704 Hauser Street which was an unsuccessful spin off attempt to the All in the Family realm. I was lucky enough to have that included as a bonus in my purchase.

I bought Sanford, Sanford Arms, What's Happening Now, 704 Hauser Street, Gloria.

I would have purchased Small Wonder but my Antenna TV recordings are already in perfect quality. My recording were also broadcasted before Antenna TV started credit crunching so each episode has the opening and closing credits in tact.

Speaking of Archie Bunker's Place, it was aired uncut on FamilyNet a few years back. Only a handful of episodes were edited and I believe that was the studio's doing, not FamilyNet's.

The 2 parter (originally aired as an hour) Gloria Comes Home episode is edited with both parts running 22 minutes each. I believe the original Gloria pilot also runs a little short (Not a big deal as the original pilot is included unedited with original opening and closing credits on the complete set of All in the Family). The 2 part (originally aired as an hour) Archie's New Partner episode also runs short at 22 minutes each. This episode is also edited on both the Sony and Mill Creek versions of season 1. It appears as an hour on the All in the Family complete set but in actuality it is the syndicated versions back to back. Each episode has an opening and closing credit so it isn't truly an hour long episode.

My All in the family set is on the way. After I get the Sanford Arms DVD I will be getting Gloria, and What's Happening Now. I am so excited to see those 2 new eps of Sanford arms. For years it was only 4 eps

That's awesome. I'm glad to finally own all of the All in the Family related shows with the addition of Gloria (I've had about 7 original run episodes) and 704 Hauser (I've had 704 Hauser but this was an upgrade).

With the addition of Sanford Arms, I now own all the related shows of Sanford and Son. Grady was released a few years back and I've had Sanford (90s BET airings) for years but this most recent set is a major upgrade.

I still hate that the only Grady episode not on the DVD was a Sanford and son crossover with Esther, Woody, and Bubba

I agree. When it comes to really rare shows I'll take what I can get. If I only had one episode of Grady and Sanford Arms, I would be perfectly fine with it just because both shows are very hard to find. Missing 1 episode of Grady and 2 of Sanford Arms doesn't bother me too much.

This especially goes for DVD releases. Some shows only have 1 season on DVD and the remainder of those shows may never be released. I'll be happy with one season over nothing. Luckily with syndication most of these shows will appear someplace and we can make our own sets for the remaining seasons.

I recently purchased It's A Living from there. The quality is perfect but they are the same edits shown on Antenna TV and Logo minus the time compression and include the ending credits. It's a great set but I'll still hang on to my old recordings for the musical numbers and scenes that have been edited out in recent syndication packages.

I fear that if It's a Living ever gets an official DVD release, these are the episodes that will be included. I doubt the unedited versions exist or cost a fortune due to musical licensing.
