Yep, opus started a new one after MA did this thread. ODAAT is so awesome that it has to have two threads!

Did you notice the picture on the wall behind Julie and Barbara ? It is Alice and Flo !

I guess CBS was promoting another one of it's shows within a show very discreetly !

That's very cool! I didn't notice that 'till you brought it to my attention. The show should have kept Flo. Flo was a much more talented actress than Alice. She was much funnier too. That Linda Lavin really was a shrew.

I liked Alice , I didn't find her to be a shrew, just a no nonsense kind of gal !

My fav.characters are Mel and Vera ! And I liked Flo the best between her, Jolene and Belle !

"Alice" was okay. I meant to write that Linda Lavin was the shrew since she forced Polly Holliday out of the show. I also liked "Flo" better than "Belle" or "Jolene." But "Jolene" was okay.

I know I'm in the vast minority with this, but I can't stand the Flo character! It's bad enough to be a hussy, but an unattractive hussy? Huge turn off! I'd put Blanche from The Golden Girls in the same category.

Between Flo, Belle and Jolene it's Jolene that's easily my favorite.

It's still a shame that Linda Lavin had to be like that though.
