Mel's mother was in quite a few episodes. There's one where she gets married to Robby, one where she takes over Mel's kitchen after he injures his back, one where she sings with Alice at Vinny's House of Veal, one where she breaks up with Robby and falls for Earl, etc. There's a few more. You really thought she was only on once?

The one that was on tonight is the one when she took over the diner because of mel's back. But yes since she lived so far I wasnt expecting to see her again since Mel was in his 50's and on his own

There's an earlier episode where she takes over Mel's diner, not the one that aired tonight where she worked at that competing restaurant. It was back in the Flo era. She made chicken pot pies back then too! Mel complained that she was using the expensive breast meat for the pies when Flo brought him his lunch.

If there was a rating for all characters, she would be at the bottom of the list just below HENRY

Just realized he works for the phone company. I just thought he was a fat slob that came in to eat and relax

Yep, he was the telephone repairman. If you're just realizing that now, I assume you are somewhat new to the show.
