Default The daughters' credits in the intro

I don't know about anyone else, but I feel like in the opening credit sequence, Dinah Manoff should be credited as the first daughter before Kristy, instead of the other way around.

I realize that Kristy had the bigger/longer career at that point, and I'm sure that's why her credit is first. But Carol is the older daughter, and when I think of the show I think of her as having more of a presence on the show. Maybe it's just me though, lol.

Kristy was indeed second billed because she was a bigger “name” and she had the power to negotiate that billing.

But Carol was the bigger presence on the show because she was there the entire time, and Kristy was only there for 4 1/2 seasons. Plus, Carol was the only daughter present in seasons 6-7, so she had a really big role then. Too bad, because I thought Carol without Barbara to balance her out and bounce off of was too tough to take.

Which does make sense regarding the credits, I just think it's a shame in hindsight that Dinah wasn't credited first. She is the elder of the two daughters, and I don't know about other viewers, but I just "feel" Carol on the show more than I do Barbara (that's what I meant about her seeming to be a bigger presence on the show---I didn't watch much of the latter seasons in first-run, particularly when they moved to the clinic). Barbara is a fine character, and their interplay is good, but Dinah's Carol is such a fantastic case of nailing that neurotic personality that she really hit it out of the park. I wish she had gotten at least 1 Best Supporting Actress Emmy nomination for her work as Carol (same with Park as Laverne, although at least Park did get 3 Golden Globe nominations and did win 3 Viewers for Quality Television awards).

Agreed! It’s very odd to me
