Default Closing Jokes Edited

I have been watching Welcome Back, Kotter on Antenna TV and one thing I have noticed is that Gabe Kaplan's closing jokes have been edited out. I was watching the episode where a computer was installed in the classroom and at the end he tries to tell a joke to the device. The closing scene was cut. Anyone notice that?

Probably because the closing joke is not included in the local syndicated versions only on cable like we used to see on TV Land in 2002

I think these are new prints WB made for Antenna, and they made the decision to do that unfortunately. But I remember that closing scene being kept on Me-TV's airings, so probably different prints. Anyway, at least it's not like Logo (who airs Alice, another WB show), who hacks over 7 minutes of Alice per episode!

Weren't shows a lot longer in those days? Now they have a ton of commercials.

The 30-45 second closing scene in sitcoms was called the hook because it would hook you into watching the commercials to see the end of the show.

You know until it was mentioned on here I forgot it was a opening and closing joke. So tonight I noticed after the commercial all you hear is the laughter of the closing joke and then the closing credits start.

I MISS TV LAND so much

I think Marcia Strassman quit because she realized that she could be replaced by a computer.

It's a episode of WBK when the sweathoggs enter the classroom like they are a dance group and putting on a show

All I know is it;s not season 3 or 4

After watching the DVD I was able to see that it was always 2 jokes, one before the opening credits and one before the closing credits. Until the 4th season when Kotter is not seen that much.
