IDK ? It never really was mentioned if he had a band or not ? The movie starts out with this corny lounge singer crooner song playing when the people board the plane to the mysterious tropical vacation hideaway ! It is mentioned that it was Johnny DelMonico singing !

This was NOT Michael Lembeck singing for sure! Even if you never heard Lem sing, the voice and singing style didn't match at all! Sounded like a much older man, so than when they finally showed Johnny D. Who looked like a teen idol, boy band , bubble gum rock type not a Las Vegas lounge crooner , it was pretty comical really !!
