The scenes with Fred and Aunt Esther were so funny since Redd Foxx and Lawanda Page were longtime friends who grew up together in St. Louis. Their on camera chemistry was outstanding.

Clara doesn't look like a church lady who carry a bible in her purse and quoting from it as Esther did. Esther and her friends had a role of church ladies down to a "T". Clara looks more like a friend of Fast Fanny

Clara had couple of lines on that episode. And Weeping Wonda (from GoodTimes) was also there in that scene bugging Woodrow about his age...

Well neither one is, shall we say, Vanessa Williams. While both could crack a mirror, the onscreen chemistry between Lawanda and Redd is hard to beat!
