Default A nice memory of interviewing Peter Tork & Mickey Dolenz

n the early 90's I had the pleasure of producing a TV comedy parody talk show seen on satellite across the United States on the now def-ult "Channel America" a LPTV TV station groups.

Being a classic TV buff all my life I also served as the guest coordinator/booker and had the pleasure of having Peter Tork as our very special guest. Our show was very zany as we called it a "Parody of real talk shows" but Peter got our premise and my memories of the evening are wonderful.

Plus as a bonus I always brought in any memorabilia I had from the celebrity I could find, He graciously signed albums, picture sleeves, and his solo single of "Higher & Higher".

Peter played up and was totally "On" as our show won several national CableAce Awards, though it was produced on a shoestring budget, yet had a very professional look.

I am proud to have what I now consider a long lost rarely seen Peter Tork interview because though I own the copyright we do not post the episodes on any sites.

I had the pleasure of meeting all four monkees over a period of 30 years carrying the same still mint color 8x10 until the last autograph by Mr. Nesmith completed the four!

BTW I also for a separate project interviewed Mickey for over 30 minutes when he was in broadways "Aida". The interview took place at the famous Sardis in the heart of the broadway district. Mickey also signed many items after the mostly non-monkees related interview.

TeeVeeCloset,

I'll echo what you said. I interviewed Micky Dolenz last week, talking about the new live concert album that he and Mike Nesmith released earlier this month. I also asked him about the Monkees Blu-ray box set and more. He was great to interview and talk to. In fact he mentioned the Aida production he was in, and that he took vocal lessons for the role.

Here's a link to my interview:
