No, it was never said they broke up.

Missing Julie’s wedding isn’t Ed’s fault. He was coming but when Julie calls it off they tell him on the phone to go to his conference (or whatever it was).

Since I’m a bit after Julie’s wedding I’ll try to add any Ed mentions to things I’m looking out for, like Max flights or old Italian women doing laundry.
