Default True Happiness

Would you be happy if you could have all the nice things your heart desires-
the nicest furniture, the handiest appliances, and the latest technology gadgets?

If you could have all the money you would ever need to satisfy your longings-
a grand vacation monthly, a new car, a luxurious house bulit the way you want it - then surely you would be happy -right?
I'm sorry, you still would not be satisfied!

The Bible says:
"He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase" [Ecclesiastes 5:10]
In simple words, this means that things will not make you happy. But you, of course, may say, "Oh, that is just the Bible."

If you are honest, would you not need to admit that when you have tried to find satisfaction by getting things to please yourself, or to make yourself feel good, you have not found lasting hapiness?

The problem may not be the things themselves; the problem may lie with you. A continual drive for things that satisfy places you under a cruel master.

The Bible says:
"Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in the lusts thereof" [Romans 6:12]
And again also:
"Sin shall not have dominion over you" [Romans 6:14] The problem is allowing sin to reign and have dominion over your life.

Really, you are not your own. You are responsible to a higher being. If you allow evil to rule your life, you can not be at peace with a Higher Being, which is GOD. That just may be why you have not found happiness, "TRUE HAPPINESS."
It is not just around the corner either, you have to be willing to change Masters. You may never find happiness, true happiness, until you give up yourself. Life is not all about you, it is not about nice things or lots of money. It is about serving your fellow man, and finding eternal life after this short earthly existence is over.

So, seek the one that can give you that eternal life, he promises what the true seeker shall find:

"Ask, and it shall be given you: seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you" [Matthew 7:7]

Also he says:

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" [Matthew 11:28]

Now that is happiness, TRUE HAPPINESS! That is JOY!

I looked at some of the wealthiest people and they still have problems. Having money and nothing to do such as hold a job, you can be miserable. Doing something makes you happier.

Absolutely! I am searching for a job and if I could find one that I could feel good about helping people or doing something worthwhile, I'd be happy. I made pretty good money at my former job, but even if this was something where I could work from home and help people I would love it.

I think that good health is worth more than money especially with what has happened to my husband. No amount of money in the world will buy his mind back from Dementia. And if you are sick and suffering money won't help.

Like an old saying, ~~~If you have your health, you have everything, but if you lose you health, you lose everything!
Try to stay strong!

Also, think of ALL the people in society we claim to be "successful" that have committed suicide.

I believe that happiness is when your life has some purpose which makes you wake up in the morning, my opinion. It can be winning some prestigious competition, start a family, raise children etc.

Some say true happiness can never be attained, only chased. And really if you think about it, how often do we actually live in the NOW, not thinking and planning for the future or looking forward to better days?
