In the past, I have posted a lot of threads about my fondness for Hazel Shermet. I was very surprised to learn that she was already in her sixties when she first appeared on "Gimme a Break!" You see, I was twelve when I saw my first episode of this show in its entirety. This episode was the "Emergency". I thought that, for a woman in her sixties, she was quite attractive and very energetic. I also liked the way that she was dressed in this particular episode. Some people might think that it is strange for me to feel giddy over a lady who was over a decade older than my mother. Well, I would now like to make a comparison between the late Hazel Shermet and a babe who is still living and who is nine days older than my mother. The actress that I am referring to is Anita Gillette. Is anyone here familiar with her? Two movies that I have seen her in are "Boys on the Side" and "Shall We Dance?". In my opinion, she did a good job in both films and that she is pretty hot stuff for a woman her age.

Never heard of her until now. I just googled her pic. She's OK looking.

If you would like to learn more about her, there are several uploads that feature her on You Tube. Also, depending on what type of streaming or DVD service you have, you might be able to watch either of the films that I mentioned her being in.

I mostly know Anita Gillette for her game show appearances, but it seems she has legend or near-legend status on Broadway.
Here's a game show clip of hers you'll probably enjoy. Besides being a good player, Anita does something at the end that I don't think I've seen any other celebrity do... ![]() https://archive.org/embed/The50000PyramidMay211981 |

I don't recall a celebrity player snuggling with a civilian contestant on any game show more than Anita Gillette did here. Tony was a lucky guy.

My mother knew Anita from High School, as they were classmates.
