Default Teacher, Teacher

Another great episode. I really liked this one a lot.

Mrs. G with some of her hair down looked so nice and made her look younger. I loved it!

I think I remember Natalie had a string of different jobs through the season and it was like a running joke. I know the Taco place is coming up soon, and I believe there's a few more different jobs she takes.

I like her so much more with each episode because she's doing what she wants no matter what others think. Blair's comment towards her was so catty and mean---"Some people sink to the bottom" and she looks over at Nat. Not right Blair!

Tooties also made a crack and I don't get it. This is their friend and they should respect what she wants to do without the catty comments. I'm glad Nat stood up for herself and didn't let it get to her.
I feel personal about that because I too chose to work after school and there's nothing wrong with it. Millions of people do it and are very happy.

I loved seeing Jo as a teacher! A few seasons ago I couldn't imagine her character in that position, but she was so good with the kids and if she feels a pull to do that, I think it's so admirable.

But again, her friends are admonishing her for that decision when a big corporate company comes calling. I never seen these girls so judgmental towards each other as in this episode. Meow! Hiss!

I was glad in the end when Jo decided to stay and hang with the kid to talk about the war and missed her recruiting appointment. Good! I know from someone here that she goes into social work in the end of the series and I like that she wants to help people regardless of the salary.

Turning her into a cop was just stupid...but many make believe the reunion film never existed so I guess i'll get on board on that too.

Blair has that hideous chrysanthemum hair again

But still a great episode and now one of my new favorites.

And NO George Clooney!!

Like i said before, i hated what the writers did to the BLAIR character in the later seasons, and one of them that comes into my mind (i think it must have been on season 9 cos she was just HORRIBLE!) is her interaction with BEVERLY ANN:
I can't remember what it was about, but BLAIR simply hurt BEVERLY ANN's feelings (regardless whether i like her character or not) and was really 'CATTY' to her!!!!
It was almost as if everything MRS G had taught to BLAIR had vanished from her memory or as if she had been brain washed!
It was simply horrible, and it kind of stopped me from watching the later seasons and i kind of erased it from my mind.....
I was even chocked that none of the other girls tried to stop her, and i was even waiting for JO to slap her and knock some reason and bring her back to her old self, but none of that happened and i was left angry and confused!!!

OMG that sounds bad! Do you know what episode that is? I can't believe our Blair could hurt Beverly Ann like that---she must have said something terrible to her if you wanted Jo to slap her!

I did get shocked when she made that catty remark to Nat about sinking to the bottom. She wasn't even saying it jokingly either. It came out so judgmental.

Blair looked so clueless and inept in the last season. She would have made a horrible lawyer (I certainly would never hire her as one) and she was way over her head as Headmistress of Eastland.

Let's ask Christopher about it (he's the pro after all): but i would bet 100 bucks that it was in season 9, since 8 seemed to be a better season according to everyone on this site.

PS: i'd say it wasn't BLAIR, but rather her clone (the real one was brain washed or captured like in the 'Stepford wifes')

Pod Blair just like Pod Edna!

The real Blair is tied up somewhere with the real Mrs. G.

Are you talking about A Rose By Any Other Age where Blair makes fun of Beverly Ann for wanting to date a guy Blair was interested in? If so, yes it's a season 9 episode. The guy likes older women so Blair didn't have a shot. Blair felt jealous and started saying really mean things to Beverly Ann like people would think she was out with her son if she dated him or how he could be her biographer. She even said don't take him across any state lines. Blair was not herself in season 9. None of the characters were.

Wow....they're all pods?! I'm both dreading and looking forward to that season now in a train wreck kind of way.

Horrific. Gimme a Break was never all that great, but the final season made everything that came before look like a masterpiece. They brought in yet another child with a bowl haircut, plus Rosie O’Donnell, plus Paul Sand (how he ever made it in show business, however briefly, was beyond me).

I enjoyed the first four and a half seasons of GAB. Season six, however, is another story. The random characters they added, the change in premise, the horrible writing... And most importantly, the Cast Purge between seasons. It was the original characters who had made the show. Once most of the original cast was gone, the show was sunk.

It plays on Antenna TV and I just can't watch when they move to NYC. None of it makes sense, especially the grandpa following them there. WTH?!

And the first little kid was annoying enough, but to add his goofy muppet real life kid brother was the final straw....and Rosie O Donnell...enough said!

The show was great right up until the poor Chief died. After that the show was lost and I believe Nell Carter experienced terrible personal issues, drug addiction and was even suicidal during that time. I don't know how much creative input she had, but if she did, it clearly affected the show.

The show was at it's best when it focused on the 3 girls, Nell and the Chief.

If FOL season 9 is anything like the final season of GAB, i'm bracing myself.

Yes, Christopher that's the episode: 'A Rose By Any other Age' thank you!

And i'm so glad to hear that BLAIR isn't the only 'pod' character (as cfr1970 said): i was beginning to think the writers had something against her character in particular lol!

I just know that had MRS G being there, she would have been able to handle the situation and scolded BLAIR very severely!

The writing is just very lazy that year. You have Jo marrying a guy she hardly knows. Blair acting like a spoiled airhead. Natalie deciding to move in with 4 people she hardly knew but it "felt" right for her journey of experiencing life. She didn't even ask if she could move in. She just told them she is going to be their roommate. How cocky is that? Tootie has her moments but overall, I like how they ended her character. She married Jeff and they're still together in my mind. Don't care what that reunion movie said.
