Default "Come Back to the Truck Stop, Natalie Green, Natalie Green"

Well this sure was a change of pace!...Antenna TV played this season 7 episode today for their "Slap Happy April Fool's" thingy. (lame I know)

Anyway, I know I had to have seen this one because the air date is November of '85 and I know for a fact I watched FOL every Sat. night religiously at that time. But I wasn't remembering any of it as I watched this bizarre episode unfold.

Jo looks fantastic with all that '80's makeup on her. Loved it and wished she wore more makeup during the series. Nancy M is very pretty and the makeup only brings out her best features.

Best line was form Tootie about George, saying exactly what I was thinking---"Does he have to be here?" Thank you Tootie!!

Best part was Mrs. G's entrance towards the end. I wasn't expecting that because I thought it was one of her absent episodes.

Blair filing her nails through her gloves.

And CHARO?! I guess it must have been her week off from "The Love Boat".

A fun episode...but once is enough for me lol. I can see why I don't remember any of it. Maybe I blocked the whole episode out of my mind.

This is one of my favorites from season 7. I love when Blair goes to grab a gun, she grabs the pork chop instead trying to act tough. Natalie goes, "Oh that's a pork chop." Blair responds, "My mistake" and blows on it like a gun goes off. Lisa does some of her best comedy acting in this episode. The scene where she twirls around and goes to lean against the door but it opens on her is funny too.

I must be one of the only fans of this show that didn't mind George. He didn't bother me when he was on the show. His character was more tolerable than some of the lost girls IMO.

I'm the same way. I'm neutral on him.

Blair was very funny and they all looked like they had a great time filming this one. As for George, even back then I felt he wasn't needed there and I can see why he was only in 17 episodes (according to IMDB). I didn't like him on Roseanne either when he went over there.

Also, the IMDB says this about it on it's episode page :

"Natalie is in a truck stop diner in Pennsylvania where she writes a story, relating the characters in it to the people in her own life."

Maybe it was edited out, but what the hell was she doing in Pennsylvania on a bicycle by herself? Was she still in HS in this season?! The show begins with her walking in the diner with the bike and reaching Blair's answering machine saying she's coming home. Maybe the scene explaining this was taken out?

Oh no no, she wasn't in HS anymore. She didn't go to college after graduating. She went instead to "experiencing the world" (though it was mostly in Peekskill, lol).

Oh! I think i'm remembering that now. I was naturally expecting her to go to Langley with Jo and Blair when she left Eastland...but now it's coming back to me.

What about Tootie? She was out of Eastland before the series was over right?

Tootie was still in Eastland, but they phased Eastland out in season 7. The Eastland uniform isn't shown at all in season 7. Tootie is in her graduation gown in the episode 'The Graduate'. They made viewers forget Tootie was in high school until that episode.

Ok, I see 'The Graduate' aired May of 86, so Tootie was out of HS for the last 2 seasons. Now i'm peeking at all the episodes after that and I really don't want to but I can't help myself. I see in 'Off Broadway Baby' that Tootie auditions for a Broadway play, so I assume she too didn't go to college either?

Now i'm going to force myself to stop peeking at episode guides because I like being surprised!

Tootie goes to college but she still pursues acting auditions. Off Broadway Baby is fun. The girls go to New York. Natalie comforts Tootie for her audition while Blair and Jo show Beverly Ann around New York. Stacy Q appears in the episode as Cinnamon.

No I remember Cinnamon! She was Stacy Q. My FOL memories are really weird. All the Edna's Edibles episodes I mostly have forgotten, but I remember main bits and pieces of the Over Our Heads seasons, especially the 85-86 season and the fall of 86....it's from beginning of '87 and on I have no memory of it because I turned 17 and got my first car so there was no way in hell I was going to be sitting home watching FOL anymore.

I don't mind questions being answered, I just want to stop peeking at the episode guide because when I go there to look at a specific show for air dates and such, I get curious and start scrolling down to the other episodes and I have to stop myself!

I do the same thing with MTM which i'm currently watching weekly on dvd. I have to force myself to stop scrolling at other episodes before seeing them. The internet can be one big spoiler for the weak!!

I can't wait to see that movie!! That's one I haven't seen since it originally aired and I know Antenna TV is going break it up into 4 heavily edited episodes, so i'm going to try not tuning in for that when it airs and wait till I get the Complete Series and see it full and uncut.
