Who would higher Blair as a lawyer?

I've been watching some of the last season episodes and all I can say is that Blair seems to be a lousy

BLAIR studied 'Law', but decided to become the headmaster of the 'Eastland school for girls' to save it financially: i thought that was quite classy of her, and it proved how much she loved her old school!

What was she in the 2001 reunion movie? I too can't picture her a lawyer. She did have good business sense, so I could see her running Warner Enterprises...whatever it was that company did.

As for hiring Blair as a lawyer? Hell no!

She ran a hotel chain. And since Eastland was closed, she didn't do a very good job of running it.

Blair always struck me as one of the least brightest of the Eastland 8.

I thought she had good business sense? I saw a few scenes where someone rattled off complicated business jargon, and Blair knew exactly what they were talking about.

I wouldn't call her the least brightest....the most shallow yes, but not the least brightest.

Does anyone remember specifics of the I.Q. episode? I vaguely recall one of them was surprisingly high and the others were shocked. Was it Blair? Or one of the Lost Girls?

Ouch! That was really mean: BLAIR was absolutely not the 'least brightest' (she only acted like the 'blond dumb' to annoy JO). In fact, she did pretty well in her grades and was quite academic.
TOOTIE on the other hand was not very interested in studies...

Agree about Tootie (though I love her). Not calling her dumb at all, but out of the 4, she was the least academic and cared most about acting.

If we're going to rank then on brightest to least brightest:

1. Blair
2. Jo
3. Natalie
4. Tootie

The more I think about it, the more I say Blair was the most brightest of the bunch. She was just shallow.

The core of 4 were bright (although maybe JO was the most popular at college and was at the top of her class as we know).

BLAIR on the other hand loved to act 'dumb blonde' to annoy JO or when she was flirting with the boys, but she was definitely more than meet the eyes.
I believe her 'shallowness' was just an act: she was definitely deep when it came to friendship!

Yes, as early as season 2 she's already habitually listening to EF Hutton, lol.

She's very intelligent, she just doesn't dwell on it. When Mrs. Garrett said Jo did so well on her entrance exams, Blair blows that off with, "Psh, that thing's a breeze. I got a 96." (okay she doesn't actually say "psh", but she gives that air of it, lol).

One of the Lost Girls. Here was the part regarding Blair:

Yep! I knew it was Blair! Higher than her weight puts her in 3 digits. And in Season 1 i'd peg her at 120-125 lbs. And higher than that is above average intelligence!

Lol! You're reminding me of that time on "The Golden Girls" where Rose says she's skilled at guessing the weight of a brute sow, and when Blanche doubts her, Rose glances at her and guesses her weight!

I think Blair's shallowness was real and she simply evolved and grew more as the series progressed. Meeting and knowing Jo really helped in that area, and I think it's the episode mentioned earlier in another thread when they visited friends in the city where we first see that.

Blair making those tuna fish sandwiches shocked her shallow friend so much while Blair thought nothing of it. I think that was where we first saw her begin to lose her shallowness. And afterwards, she still played it as more of an act or to be funny...and yes to annoy Jo.

Nancy was the highest, Cindy and Molly seemed happy with theirs, Tootie and Nat had the same score, and Sue Ann had the lowest in the school.

Hey, that's welcome here! I did the same thing myself when I binged the whole series again (minus a few episodes I don't watch anymore) a couple of summers ago. I specifically remember making a season 1 "play-by-play" thread as I watched each episode, lol. I even kept a running tally of "rump references" to Mrs. Garrett's ample backside.

Oh yes it was definitely real, and never completely went away. It was part of her character.

Yes, that's where we first see---away from school, at least, and to a very strong degree---how Blair and Jo learned from each other without perhaps even realizing it.
