Default Blair's year 2000 dream

I remember this one! Not the details, but I clearly remember when they were wondering where they'd all be in 2000. It played on Antenna TV, but it had to be edited because I specifically remember a line where someone asks Blair what she thinks she'll be in 2000, and she replies "35!" and whimpers. Was that all in my head or did they cut it out?!

Anyway, I don't think it's such a great episode since the message is pretty much saying that her life isn't fulfilling if she got married. I didn't really care for that. And the other girls didn't seem to have all that fulfilling lives themselves...and they made Tootie kind of a bitch there LOL. Didn't like who she turned out at all!

Jo looked amazing with that hairstyle. I couldn't believe how great she looked...was that a wig or her own hair? It was almost as good as Blair's! I didn't like that they perpetuated the lesbian slant by dressing her as a man and not having her married. I just don't know what the writers were thinking by portraying her questionably like that. (was it some kind of inside joke to them?!)

Natalie was still goofy Natalie and Mrs. Garret was still the same lovable woman too.

BTW---I really liked Cliff and the relationship they had together. In the reunion, was she married to him? I'd like to think so.

Good insight, "Molly"!

Oh surely that was her Nancy hair (i.e., "real", lol). And yes, it did look great!

Molly Parker: "Hey! Wait a minute, cfr1970---are you saying a woman can't dress as a man and be unmarried without it having to send some sort of message??"

I don't think so?? I only saw it when it first aired.

By the way, what were you doing watching the season 3 painting episode recently?? I thought you were moving through the "Edna's Edibles" years?? lol

Antenna TV plays Season 3 M-F for an hour with 2 episodes, but on Sundays they play a different season. It's because the M-F episodes go quicker being 10 episodes a week, while the Sunday airings are only 2 every Sunday. So as time goes by they're way behind for the Sun airings over Weekday ones.

Yeah, Tootie's 2000 self was kind of smug and stuck up and pretty much bragging to everyone about her glamorous life while looking down on Blair. I know it was only a dream, but I was hoping Blair would've slapped her.

Ok, I have to ask...I'm not getting the Molly jokes!

Oh! That's right, you're not "down" with season 1 yet. Molly is a budding staunch feminist and rights activist.

Ok, so she'd probably look down on Blair for being married early and slap me over the head for assuming Jo was gay. Got it.

But still, it would've been nice to have seen future Jo more feminine than just the hairstyle. I seriously think the writers were having a good inside chuckle with her character's ambiguity.

Yes she'd slap you over the head for the Jo thing, lol, but I don't think she'd look down on Blair for marrying early, as long as she felt that's what Blair wanted and it would make her (Blair) truly happy.

Yeah, they definitely kept her style in that style.

Out of all the 'serious' men BLAIR had, i'd say BEN was the best one for her: he was a bit like a male version of JO, and the perfect one to tame BLAIR down a little lol!
You see how he puts her in her place the first time they meet, when she asks him:
"you seem to have a certain taste of woman?"
and he replies,
"when i see a woman my taste, i'll let you know..." Ha ha ha lol!

That's funny. Does he come later in the series or have I already missed him? I don't recall seeing him yet, but I know I missed a couple of episodes here and there in the last few weeks on Antenna TV.

BEN has only 2 part episodes: 'Gone with the wind part 1 + 2' from season 6.
It's really a shame they didn't keep him on: He had a strong personality, was good looking, ambitious and hard working.
In the end, they had another guy like him for BLAIR though (GUY the social worker) but they eventually split up when he says to her he doesn't want to have a family, and you know how important that has always been for BLAIR, as an only child...

Then he should be coming up soon in the Antenna TV run....so there's yet another person named Guy that Blair dated or was it the same one from the beginning of the Edna's Edible season? If not, the writers sure seemed to love that name.

Oops sorry! I think i may have gotten the name wrong!
There is a guy (not GUY) who ends up dating BLAIR during season 9 i think? (I can't remember, cos i'v only watched the later seasons on 'YouTube') but there is definitely this social worker (he works with JO) who hates BLAIR at first, but ends up falling in love with her!
A real soap opera man!

That sounds interesting and definitely will be new to me because I know I tuned out of the whole final season back when it aired so that'll be a lot of fun to watch. Seeing a guy challenge Blair rather than fawn all over her would certainly be different!
Ok that's all I want to know....don't give me any more details because I want to see it as it plays and be surprised lol. But from what you describe, i'm really looking forward to it!!

No, she was married to a guy with the same last name as hers. I like Cliff too. I wish they would have done an episode showing how they broke up in season 6. All we get is the aftermath with them telling us how Blair got to the point of self-loathing over how she hurt him.

I kind of figured when she turned down the proposal and he went to Dallas that that was their unofficial break up, even though they said they'd continue the relationship, I think they both knew that was the end and the audience did too.

I peeked at Wikipedia's list of episodes for Season 6 (I try not to because these middle seasons are new to me) and saw the breakup occurs in the 15th episode of that season. The synopsis says "Blair's rebellious behavior after breaking up with Cliff has everyone questioning her, especially Mrs. Garrett.". Looks to be a good episode.

So I guess the breakup was offscreen or does Cliff make one more appearance?

It's hysterical she eventually married someone with the same last name so she'll always be "Blair Warner"! I just hope she checked that it wasn't a distant relative!

In the 2000 dream episode where Cliff proposes to her she's thrilled that if she says yes, she doesn't have to change any of her monograms. I forgot his last name, but it obviously began with a W.

Season 6 was aired out of order. Working It Out was to air in the beginning of season 6, not the middle. It was the 3rd episode produced that year. Season 6 begins with them still together. It's not until Working It Out that we learn she was engaged to Cliff and was getting the ring sized for her finger. It would have been a great episode if they had shown all of that instead of talking about it.

Cliff makes an appearance in season 6 and comes back again for one episode in season 8. I wish they would have kept him around for Blair to be serious with in the last season. Tootie is the only character who had a satisfying ending IMO. She ends up with her true love which I like.

Cliff's last name is Winfield.
