Post behind the scenes gossip about 1986 season

I heard that originally the first season girl(nancy, sueann, cindy) were asked to come back for the whole 86-87 season from when mrs.garret got married, instead of just the one episode. The script needed work so they put it on hold and were only offering the girls 9,000 an episode which would of been a slap in the face considering the other actresses they started with in 1979 were renegotiating and making 6 times as much an episode. The girls ended up saying no but agreed to the one episode(little chill)instead.

I've never head this - where did you hear it from? $9,000 an episode is still a considerable amount of money - especially for them since most of them had not acted very much since the first season ended..

Well Felice Schachter had a major role in the 1982 film zapped opposite Scott Baio who was pretty popular at the time. That's the reason she didn't appear anymore on the show after early 1982! They still wanted to use her but weren't going to give her more than a few cameos a season.

Oh, man if this were true about the first season girls coming back, I would have loved the show even more. I'm just a first season fan. That would have been great to bring them back. They should return for the movie.

Something about the reunion episone puzzles me. Nancy, Cindy, and Sue Ann acted like they never met Jo before, when they were all in the second season as guestas a lot. Also, in second season, Jo seemed perfectly comfortable with them, unlike in that late episode.

I thought of that too. To me I think the writers basically just screwed up.

I wonder if this is true that the 3 Lost Amigos were offered only $9,000 to appear in the Little Chill. But back then $9,000 was a lot more money.

Actually, after their agents got their cut and taxes were taken out, it probably wasn't worth it to them since they were all very young and could hold out for better things to come along.

If this is true, i'm sure they didn't want to be committed and tied down F/T to a show that was paying them so low each week when there were possible movie roles they could snag or other sitcom pilots they could audition for.

Speaking of salary. I remember reading somewhere a long time ago, one of the cast members saying they did the 2001 movie reunion (that sucked imo) because they get no residuals from the old show and this was their way of making some money off the show.
Is that true---they get nothing from FOL when it plays in reruns or from dvd sales?! That's so messed up if true!

That is true. They got little or no residuals on the show. Molly Ringwald, who appeared of the main 8 girls who appeared on the show probably has a net worth the is equal to or exceeds the net worth of all the other girls combined.
