Default Has anyone ever eaten a bialy?

During a episode of Supermarket Sweep David Ruprecht mentioned a food called a bialy and I would like to know what a bialy is and do they taste great? From what I saw in the Supermarket Sweep episode I watched today bialys are like a dinner roll. I had never heard of this food and it's new to me

I like them. NYC has a large Jewish population so bialys are quite common around here. Some bakeries and delis do make them fresh and they can also be found packaged on supermarket shelves.

The main difference between bagels and bialys is that the bialys are not boiled before being baked and they have a depression in the middle instead of a hole. The depression can be filled with different kinds of seasonings like garlic, onions, poppy seeds...

Oh so that's what a bialy is? I kept seeing them being mentioned on Supermarket Sweep and was wondering what bialys were. Sounds like a bread my mother would enjoy because my mom likes bagels and breads
Thank you very much for your info JamesG. You are truly an expert on many different things

Yes, and they are heavenly. I’m going from memory though, as bread is pretty much verboten for me. Esp. bagels and bialies which make me spike higher than cake-if you can believe it.

When I skimmed the Chit chat page quickly I thought the title said, "Has anyone ever eaten a baby"?

That’s also a “yes” from me. Great late night snack....

Of course I’m just joking here. I would never have one after 10 pm.
