Ah 70s and early 80s TV.
A time when shows based in or near New York (FOL, Different Strokes) had almost no NY accents (only Nancy McKeon was born and raised in NY) while shows based in Milwaukee had almost all NY accents (Happy Days, Lavern and Shirley).

That was what made All in the Family seem so real. NY born actors play NY based characters.
